Oooooooook, so It has been stated clear that this looks like a romantic scene. I’m guilty. I was looking some time for a scene to put this color scheme. I guess this is not the right time for it. YOU ALL ARE PERFECTLY RIGHT. It’s the moment for some spectacular and agressive colors that emphasize the action of the scene. I’m gonna do some more colors and I would ask all of you to give your opinion. Thank you guys for your quick feedback, in a few hours I’ll post some new colors.
Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Ramón Acedo
Two more color schemes, I know they are still incomplete, more are coming. Everyone is invited to express an opinion. Thanks for your advice guys.
hello Ramón
… i really love your concept a lot! especially the camera angle  …
on the other hand … looking at your latest updates … i think a sunset color scheme might work? … it’s like, freezing the scene during sunset and letting the viewer imagine the battle will continue through the night … ( sounds crazy … :surprised … )
i hope this color scheme ( minus the crowd
) helps you and gives you ideas … i’m sure you’ll do much better and surprise us

plus … you’ll have more room for those light effects!
…
damn … i’m going coo coo :hmm:
Here are two more. There are things I like on both of them. Maybe a combination of the two of them. I think I prefer Color C but with more richness of detail…
wow! i love C very much!
even at thumbnail view … it caught my attention! … looks pretty dramatic too! dark blue and orange combination is awesome!
what say people?! i think C holds it together!
out of all of the colour schemes my two favorite are A and C. ‘A’ because the image tone gives the painting wamth. and C because of the vibrance of the colours!
Woooh!!! I love all the concepts, but the C option is great. The contrast between darkness and the fire explosions seems to work in a perfect way :applause:
Great Work!!!
Hola Ramon,
I like your image. Its very dinamic.![]()
My favorite color sketch is “C”.
Good luck and keep it up.
(Esta quedando muy bien)
Very nice perspective.
Colorscheme c looks good to me. But you kinda need to seperate the fore- from the background. I would darken the foregroung.
good luck.
I would actually go for a combination of ‘B’ and ‘C’- the ‘B’ sky & ship with the ‘C’ foreground. Try it out?
A more intense version of A or C. (or just keep experimenting.) At least in those two the ship looks brass. I’m not sure what the ship is constructed out of in B and D, but it looks white… not a very steampunk color, imho.
Well, I guess I’m going for this scheme, but as some of you have pointed, more refined and contrasted, and more richness of colors, specially on the ship and the foreground. Of course the labour of detailing starts now. I don’t have nothing defined really.
Mike, you are right, of course, we don’t discern ship’s materials yet. I’ve only blocked the shapes and perspective. Now’s the time to start making it steampunkish.
Thank you all, for your advice, it’s been of great help.
Let’s steam…
I regret the brithness of A that was very good , but too pinky again.
it seem “I arrived after the battle” for the color vote.
Hey, thats a great idea and a verry dynamic image you have here ![]()
I`m looking forward for more :bounce:
I thought the sunset colour sceme looked good, but I could see how it might not work for the mood of the scene… It’s all looking really cool, though!
Hi Ramón,
Excellent concept! I love the viking idea and the menacing approach to the ships is great. It´s been a dynamic debate here over the color scheme, very exciting! I think C is the more appropriate fro the composition. The dark sky gives a very intense contrast with the lights and cannon blasts. Although I was thinking that maybe the light could come from behind the ships so they look more in shadow. There is one movie that keep coming to my mind: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. I love the dense moody atmosphere they created with that big dark zeppelin over the snowy sky on the opening scene. Could it be something in that direction?
This is going great, I can´t wait to see more!
Those colours are superb!
You manage to contrast the usual copper look with a great blue, very beautiful, ill keep my eye on this thread.

keep it up !
