Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Maciej Frolow

#21

Lemog - merci gars, well the Baron sees every move of his ennemies in this orb, let`s say he have a steampunk satellite system hahahah

ace4016 - thank you and yeah one step beyond the ennemies :bounce:

#22

what a imagination  great

#23

Thx, Im just curious if its allowed to create his own legend, I don`t read it anywhere… :lightbulb

#24

I’m not totally sure… I don’t read something precise… but I saw a couple of guys change theirs theme for something as real legend or myth…

maye you can ask anyway… that’s will be sad if you work more for nothing…
any change to adapt your concept ?
don’t know… a story of god controlling things on earth… with the machines you create !

#25

Well it looks like I toally messed up the goal of the challenge :argh:

But I have an idea to refocus on a real legend and not one writen by me: it will be based on the King Artur medieval legends. Because of some time lost I will reuse my objects to create a new scene where the king will be sitting on his trone, everything made in the steampunk design should look nice. Stay tuned.

#26

Yes… that seem a good solution Maciej… let’s go then

#27

So this is my new idea, I imagine a big sword on the background. A kind of cover for a book or a movie poster
I have recycled my crystal globe and I will rework the env around the King.

#28

Some more details… I made the throne with iron elements. Next will come the chamber with more devlopped elements and finally the statue of the King as I want to create it in bronze.

#29

Like much the idea of cover book… I’m waiting for more then… courage mec !

#30

Glad to read that, more is coming now…

#31

A small cavity dirt test to make some areas dirt and matte. I just used an ambient occlusion as a mask to obtain that.

#32

Just alot of steam  and some new elements as the stairs…

#33

hi man , nice to see you ,
concept and wip look great so far , but I think the glow ball a bit too big or the king too small ,maybe you will find the dramatic camera angle,
good luck

#34

I’m ok with Monsit though… a better angle of cam will make much to your scene…
…but I know it’s only the beginning… I’ve confidence :wavey:

#35

Monsit - thanks, I will work with the proportions however its not the king the most importent here... its the sword. But I still don`t know how to show it correctly, probably on the background as a big element…

Laurent, yes all is WIP, I just like this camea angle… and all depends of what will be on the background… behind the columns… but how to not occur too much background with the columns :banghead: and keep them big and massive?

Stay tuned :scream:

#36

I think I will go that way… a balcony with a view on the Arthur`s lands (and zeppelins). Well I still thinking about how to put alot of symbols without overloading the image…

#37

It looks good. The circular pedestals under the throne and spheres remind me the gears within a clock. Keep going…

#38

Hello long time since I have actually posted on this forum. I like your pedestals and the globes, but for some reason I think the camera needs some adjusting to make it look not so miniture to me. I know you are have some ideas of what you are going to do for the rest so I will leave my commits at that  Good luck!

#39

héhé… I’m curious… just hope that will be enough visible behind the columns… :bounce:

#40

orcun - thx, yes I like the wya it goes but I still don`t know for what purpose the globes serves  certainly as giant light bulbs hahah

Artisan-Hawks - Thanks, yes the camera angle have to be changed… it`s also not dramatic and dynamic so I have to work on it…

Lemog - Yes, I will have to find a way to hide them, I`m thinking to cut them at 1/3 high by a layer of steam. As it will be a “book cover” it not must be a realistic one image but some collages of many (think movie posters)
