#41

hei guys thanks alot for the nice words, your to kind!
about the martiniere resemblence, well…before i even heard about him,i had a reply on a forum of an iamge i did, that its inspired from him.and i never saw any of his works or heard of him till that moment(yes i was a total nubie:D not that now im not one) .after looking him up, yes he was a great inspiration and is one of my fav artist, as it was a kind of seeing things which matched my own,and at the moment i just let things and thoughts flow in my work…trying to find something which ppl would call style, but for me it is a maturity in art.
hope i reach that stage one day.

till then,i hope you guys will like the final version:) ill post it in the weekend:D

and of C&C is still welcomed!

very sweet! I really like this one! Awesome design and depth!

#43

lovely! nice environment!

#44

I’ve got no crits. Its very impressive. What is the guy waiting for?

#45

thanks im rly glad you guys like it this far!

well,i ve took the myth of the boatman,Charon, who helped the dead cross the river Styx taking them with his boat into the underworld.
As the challange was Steampunk ,i thought whats the best way to show what steampunk is all about, industrialization and fancy gizmos running mainly on steam.

So i industrialized the process ,taking the boat and replacing it with a system of zepelins which take the spirits of the dead …on the other side. So the guy is the boatman, bringing in the spirits and leading them to the pick up points. The bright light on top of his staff represents spirits. He just oversees things now.

I brought in the color of his staff light …running into the center of that huge structure…linking them and hopefully making ppl think of some kind of forces and spirits…once they hear the words Underworld,Styx, boatman

C&C keep bringing it,help me find problems and solve em!
cheers

#46

Shouldn’t the boat be in front of him? ANd perhaps have some souls on the boat.

#47

well as i sayd,he just oversees things now.the whole transportation process is industrialized and the boats have been replaced with the zepelins.

yes ill try showing that the zepelins carry spirits across, but every glow of strange colors take things more into the ream of fantasy and not steampunk ,so gotta be carefull.

cheers!

felicitari pt concept. e beton. daca a mai putea sa conturezi si sa detaliezi mai mult cladirea principala ar fi de 5*

bafta!

#49

Great idea, beautifully executed. Very nice.

#50

I really like the sense of scale in your piece. Can’t wait to see this one finish. Keep it going.

In these new times, the tremendous task of transporting the souls of the dead across the Styx to the Underworld was taken over by machines, machines unconceivable centuryes ago. Now,…Charon, the boatman who for milenia had completed the job, done now by hundreds of these machines, can only watch the souls passing…

Congratulations on completing the piece. Love the greatness that the piece transmits, and a very original twist, to a well known story, though I think the story kind of gets lost in the hugeness of the scene. Nice work man, and good luck!

#56

Nice finish, I can feel Martinere’s influence in your art.

#57

Thanks ! i wanted to ass the spirit elements to the zepelins but it would have been going awy from the steampunk theme and into fantasy to much,so i gave up!

about the martiniere stuff ,i sayd about that earlyer in the thread:) i got a coment long ago when i posted an image on a forum that it seemed like martiniere stuff, but back then i didnt even heard of him! but he is a great inspiration and i just let things take me into something im comfortable…untill i will reach a maturity.

cheers !
