Hey Gunilla, it’s all looking excellent at this stage. I’m glad you got those extra heads in too because it does look so much better now
Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Gunilla Elam
Great looking monster Gunilla! Even though i guess the heads is just duplicates they seem to have different personality’s/emotions. Aggressive, curious, sleepy and the one in the back looks a bit worried.
the challenge will be to get them to look real humongous sized. the boat and landscape will give a sense of scale i imagine.
Hey Gunilla,
Really cool design on Skilla, the crustacean legs its a great touch
like a lot :buttrock: . Cheers!!
Coool!
Having seen your “EON” entry, I would definitely expect another surrealistic and dreamy
concept from you, except this one is a breakthrough in a quite different and exiting level!
Keep up!
Ps, the tail in not quite “you”!

Lolo, Nico - thanks. good!
Sabie - yeah, we wouldn’t let Skylla starve, would we?
So, now completely steamified!
Mark - Yeah, I agree - I had a little lazy moment there, now gone :deal:
Try - Great, you saw it! They are in fact a bit different, just as you mentioned. I think it could be interesting to give her a split personality, don’t you?
Ferx - thanks for liking the legs - I may make them even more crustey later
Steven - hi there and thanks! Are you in this time? I haven’t seen your thread.
Mathias - thanks. And thanks for commenting on my tail  I haven’t quite figured it out yet, it is supposed to be a fin but maybe I do something else.
Thanks all for coming by and below is a small update.
yea I guess it works but what do u think of making a mechanism to scrol up and down the sail boat or whatever it`s name is "the white thing up there " lol
Hmmm… Looking nice but a bit unsure about the mechanical part. a long rod like this could move the oars i guess but should maybe be moved like the way the wheels of a locomotive works. If you know what I mean.
However you can make this work like a mystical strange and alien type of steam machinery.
using female logic.
agree with you… and that make the total originality… and the style’s charm of Gunie’s work
'evening Gunie !
Of course 2 more heads always better for health <= useless comment to agree with the new version of the multiple legs and heads fish.
The boat’s taking shape real nicely , the steampunk style is definitely in it.
He , What you mean exactly by : “so the oarsmen can do other stuff” ?
cheers ,
-Steph
hey. cool idea to do some viking ship steam conversion. I’m not so much into the “tiny engine” idea though. Its kind of un-steamy in a way. :hmm:
The exhaust at the rear is cool. heheh. thats steamy!
Hey Gunilla nice work on the boat motor. You know if you want to keep the engineer types quiet you could add a little housing box to cover a part of the linkage and gears. Then nobody can debate whether it could ‘actually work’ or not. And I won’t have to fly over to Norway and slap Try with a leather glove for making more female logic jokes.
Hey Gunilla,
That boat is looking really great!! Like the stylized gears on it
The texture is really nice. Perhaps yo can put gears on the oars to emphasis the steam system, only a comment
Again, great work !!
Morning Gunie!
Wow, not only a steampowered boat but already steampowered work speed:thumbsup: !
No! Not from a technical point of view, even with female logic(have I really wrote this?:surprised )…but it’s looking great, so it will work here fine for me.
I guess they are busy being eaten, like Gunie told before… oh yes, Gunie feeds Skylla, Lolo is busy blasting animals…it’s a cruel, cruel world:D
nice day for the team anyways!
-sabrina
Hi Gunilla, good work do far. Obviously you’re having fun. I’m waiting to see the looks of Charibdis.
Morning team! Thanks a lot for all the comments here.
Scooter - thanks, and the texture - my plan was to keep it like this, rather simple. But I will decide once i get a bit futher down. Maybe some worn details will be needed.
Antone - sail, it’s called a sail
and that is a good idea - perhaps it will be in the next revision!
Try - well you know, not only women comes from a different planet, steamdriven ancient boats does too
Lolo - ahh, that’s sweet
Nico - thanks, glad you like it!
Steph - glad you think it goes into the stempunk style now. And for the oarsmen, what Sabie sais and also, when there are no dangers ahead they can use the time to play cards, fishing, telling silly jokes and other important stuff.
Andreas - indeed, it’s not all that steamy but I didn’t want the engine to visually kill the shapes of the boat wich I like a lot. Hopefully in the end it will have enough steam.
Jim - that is a good idea! I may try something like that since I begin to feel a lot of comments coming about the sad level of engineering.
And I won’t have to fly over to Norway and slap Try with a leather glove for making more female logic jokes.
Touché! :applause:
Fernando - thanks, also a good suggestion - maybe I add that later.
Sabie - morning, good! If it works designwise was really what I wanted to know - I’m quite aware that technically it wouldn’t. My locic isn’t that much female - ( what on earth is happening with us writing things like that?) :argh:
And indeed, this is turning out a bloody challenge with all this bloody things around - it’s the style of the year
Ramon - thanks and yes, really fun this. I’m gald you mentioned Charybdis, cause I’m a bit uncertain about her. I’ve always thought of her as another monster, sort of built in her island but now I find sourses that says she’s no monster at all, only a huge stream whirl in the water… not so fun so I think I will do as planned and make a living monster.
Have a good day all!
