Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Gunilla Elam

#41

ok Gunnie! nice start :applause:
The concept is really cool. I wish you luck on this one

#42

Sounds and looks good Gunilla! Wondering how you’ll develop this piece. Good luck!

#43

I like the style of your sketch and your idea …

#44

I like your concepts. Greek myths are always interesting.

#45

My grand-mother bought it for my father! When I visited her it was the only book I loved to read, because it was the only one which didn’t talk about the life of Jesus, Noah’s Ark, people who distribute little breads etc.

#46

Hi Gunilla!

Nice concept, and good start on the modeling. Keep it on!!

#47

Looks like this might be a nice image to see in the end…I look forward to seeing it on the way too!

#48

My first go at making a steamy skylla … not sure about her, but she was fun to make.

#49

Dang you’re doing it again , the cute little multihead skylla

One minor crit , I may not want to be sarcastic but I only can count 4 heads…what’s wrong with the last 2 ?

Fly Gunie Fly :stuck_out_tongue:

cheers ,

-Steph

Tony - thanks good sir!
Gonzalo - yep, will do!
Ferx - thanks and I’m thrilled about the Odysseus theme too!
ace - thanks!
Sabie - me too, since I haven’t quite figured out how to do it yet
Lolo - thanks and you toofor this monday!
Steph -
Thanks buddy. But who exactly are you calling a Mummy?
Mathias - I will get to texturing later, once I figured out the style. It will be a challenge!
Scooter, Rico, Nico, Mike - thanks guys, I’m glad you like it so far.
Sophie - ha! Maybe she didn’t know how much violence and scary stuff is in it - I was really thrilled about it as a kid.
Lombardo - thanks for cheering and thanks for the beer, I needed that!
balfs21 - thanks you and nice of you to follow it!
Steph - picky are we? 4 or 6 …plenty enough I say

So, I’m wrestling with this nonorganic modeling - it’s been a long time since I tried to do something like this! What do you think, am I at the right track?

#51

it’s true… why only four heads ? not enough place  hahahaha

#52

Lolo, Steph - ahaha, OK I give up - two more heads will be, fine so? :wise:

#53

That’s a great piece! Fun and scary at the same time. Well done.

Are the legs proportionate? I would think they could be a bit longer, no?

#54

Let see how many heads you can put on her :bounce:

#55

Nice work Gunilla. I like the ship and the Skylla monster. Agreed, you better convert that ship to steam, it will be a big relief to the oarsmen.

#56

OK - So, now she has six heads… the more the better!

#57

Scooter - great thinking about the legs, I may make them more insectlike and have her clinging on the cliff with them. thanks!

Jim - yeah, I started to construct a very clever steamdriven construction to manage the oars. The oarsmen will be busy being eaten by the Skylla. I may go back to that part later but now I got all monsterbusy. glad you like it so far.

#58

Perfect number now !

#59

Nice skylla …
I like the style

#60

Morning Gunie,

this Skylla test is already an eyecatcher, and with 6 heads now there’s nothing to crit!

 Thanks for this priceless sentence, I nearly spilled my coffee - this is a good reason to make a steam driven boat for sure!

Have a great day!
