Hello all!
This is my first challenge so I hope I can finish it in time. I’m really excited for this topic! And I cant wait to see what other awesome works other people create! so Good Luck!
As for the subject Right now after giving it some thought, I think I will start off working on a version of jack and the beanstalk. I was looking for something that is more organic in story sense, seeing that beanstalk is an organic thing that grows I could have alot of fun designing that… and then of course a crazy looking giant and little boy ! woo hoo should be fun.

my fist sketch image… I need to still work on the angles , add more forced perspective, next would be to try and add more emphasis on the scale of the giant. Maybe have him falling instead of climbing down to add more to the dramatic sense of it.

along with the other of first sketches. This one I had the idea if using explosives to blow the beanstalk as the giant was climbing down… this one needs more focus on perspective which would be my next step. I would want to have the giant almost act as the sky to show how big he is… calling through clouds and steam or something along those lines.

along with the previous sketch… just to add more perspective… I want to push the explosive box and jacks feet more to the bottom of the page so you really feel the camera is at his feet. I think this one could work more to show more of the expression of jack, and the goose/hen that lays golden eggs… and also It could show more the giant as a falling sky…

soo this is another design … just pushed more the perspective… and compistion a bit… its not final by any means… but Im starting to like the layout more of this and the first one… which i need to tweak too…
things to notice…
-
not use tnt… something more related to steam stuff… just the idea of blowing up the beanstalk is cool ( to me)…

also handling the giants scale and pose… having him fall through coulds of steam or something… but also making the size feel like hes the falling sky… and many more…
but now I think I will move on to actual designs and start figuring out what things will look like… now the fun part starts!

one of my drawings i decided to stick with for jacks head… maybe push a little more the edges on his face to get more “Style” …
- goggles not final, just filler.
- hat still decided to keep or not based on clothing design…

started thinking about the clothing for jack… thinking victorian, but not to simple… and not to mature… he is a little kid, so im tring to find the right level… also I have to add the belt, and leather machine strap on things. i thought it would be cool to add a huge steam powered glove for when hes carring the golden goose. ( i’ll see how it works out)

Ahh love the topic! Cant wait to see more ideas on this one, maybe having the giant chasing him back down the stalk? Some real space to move with this idea… as much as I like jacks design Id be a little more inclined to date his clothing a little more, they still feel a bit too modern to me

autaux: yeah I really want to play with space on this one… it has alot of potential so hopefully I can pull it off. And for jacks clothing, I’ll try to date it back a bit more… clothing design isnt my strongest field so thats why im tackling that one first .
