Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Elena Pigareva

I know what your saying as an artist it’s easy to get worked up over the smallest details and weather something looks good in this spot or that spot. I think as your art develops with new additions that you add to your art has to grow on you a little. From my perspective it looks perfect and no matter where you place them it doesn’t change your design intent. Your illustration is very whimsical and original. Keep up the great work!

Right part. I change the direction of the smoke and added detailes to the building and tower clock. Ah, and also changed the balloon to plane.

Thanks for the support. I really appreciate this.

#84

I was working on only right part of the picture.
C&C are welcome.

#85

Beautiful. I like the colors very much:)

#86

A few lilliputians.

#87

A added a little more details and worked on Gulliver. There will be a few lilliputians in the picture: kids are fishing on the bridge, woman is in the window looking at them, curious child is looking at Gulliver and bicyclist.

For my entry I began with the story of Gulliver and his voyage to Lilliput. But I did not want to simply update the conventional story using a steam punk theme. I also decided to remake the story itself. My Gulliver is not an adult, but a little boy and Lilliput is not just a country of little people, but also in many ways a fantasy place for a boy to play in. There are steam punk elements such as a toy train station, a power station and a little plane overhead. The boy also has accoutrements in the steam punk style such as a cane and pocket watch.

In the picture Gulliver is a mischievous boy of the Victorian age playing with his toy mechanical fish. But in addition to being simply a toy (fantasy) place Lilliput is still a place with lots of activity: kids are fishing on a bridge, a woman in window is watching them and other goings on, a curious child is looking at Gulliver, and a man on a bicycle is hurrying to pass ahead the train.

I wanted to make the whole picture more romantic rather than warlike and because of this I used a warm palette for the picture. And finally, the picture should speak for itself and inspire your imagination to create more of little Gulliver’s story.

I would like to thank everyone for their support and the good feedback and suggestions I have received.

Damned… I’ve lost the last steps… a shame… but it’s finih now…

well… Very good final image miss… I love it particularly… as you can imagine, I’m real fun of this kind of mood… totally my taste.

I discover the new plane… the “Demoiselle” of Santos-Dumont… without pilot ? :scream: hahahaha…

In any case, it’s very well done… marvellous… that was a great travel with your kills… you must be proud and I wish you the best for the next times
