Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Dario Coelho

-Kinanh: Thank you for your comment! I understand what you mean, it may not be the usual asthetic, but i think i’ll stay with the thin legs. They give him something funny and weird, good contrast to his aggressive character. At least i’m giving him an aggressive character.

And thank you too, Rami and NR

Heres the Scarecrow. Not sure about the design yet, but i’ll keep it like that for now. Let’s see where the coming work leads to. I think i’ll try designing the girl and her dog next, maybe doing the lion, but in that case i probably won’t change much.

It’s the details that really make this awesome: the bolts holding the monkey’s cap on, the crow skulls dangling from the scarecrow’s belt, the witches monkey skull hat with feathers.

Really brilliant.

Wow, people, thank you all very much for the nice words you left here for me. I have to say i’m surprised by the amount of positive feedback and i hope i won’t disappoint you with my final image.

I’m posting the girl and her little dog this time. This one was tough, i’m not used at all with drawing children and i had really big problems making her look the way i wanted to. The proportions are a bit off and the balance is worse than worse, but it’s about the design, so i won’t worry too much about that for now.

Next one is the lion, like i mentioned before i probably won’t change much, maybe play a bit with the proportions and the size of the mane, but he will pretty much be a lion. Nothing more.

#37

I think the face is too large for her head. Additionally, the head may be too large for the body. The outfit is nice.

#38

Hi Dario, i think you could remove the area under her eyes, i think children doesn’t have them at that age, and also maybe the face proportion is a bit to long for a children, usually they have more rounded face, and also the neck, its to thick for children’s neck, anyway nice wizard of oz concept dude, just looking by your sketch i already wanna know on how if this one is make into a movie, hahahaha, nice one dude, looking forward into this one

-M31, Niall: Thank you very much for the critique and tips! I tried to make a better version and i think i’m on the right track now. Also prefered lighter hair, because i want her to really stand out in the final painting which will be rather dark i guess.

-Spin99: Brigado, Mr. Coelho!
