This is my first reference for now. I’ll build a two character relationship with one of these ghosts… one made by machinery and stuff like that.

if someone reads this. …do you think im getting far for the main subject?

here is the ref

Tsukumogami (Lit. “artifact spirit”) are a type of Japanese spirit. Tsukumogami originate from items or artifacts that have reached their 100th birthday and thus become alive and aware. Any object of this age, from swords to toys, can become a tsukumogami. Tsukumogami are considered spirits and supernatural beings, as opposed to enchanted items.

Tsukumogami vary radically in appearance, depending on the type of item they originated from as well as the condition that item was in. Some, such as tsukumogami originating from paper lanterns or broken sandals, can have tears which become eyes and sharp teeth, thus giving a horrifying visage. Others, such as worn prayer beads or teacups, may merely manifest faces and appendages, giving a warm and friendly appearance.

Though by and large tsukumogami are harmless and at most tend to play occasional pranks on unsuspecting victims, as shown in the Otogi Zoshi they do have the capacity for anger and will band together to take revenge on those who are wasteful or throw them away thoughtlessly. To prevent this, to this day some Shinto ceremonies, such as the Hari Kuyou, are performed to console broken and unsuable items.

Hey Chilombiano - good to see you back  . The concept sounds great. Good luck.

#5

working on the face. old machinery should make this spirit and certain features will come from the flora that grows in the abandon factory

#6

The image will consist in: A Tsukumogami spirit made by various abandon machinery pieces and its old operator who comes always to play chess with him.
both old and forgotten.

Any ideas are more than WELCOME!

Hi Daniel,

Good to see you in this challenge. Tsukumogami is a good idea.

Good luck and keep it up.

Creo que quedaria bien si el robot tuviese un ojo medio cerrado y la mano en la barbilla como si estuviese meditando.

cheers mate!!

Hey Daniel,

Good to see you back again. I really dug your “Love is in the air” Uplift entry. This is a very Unique Concept, and No I don’t think it’s far off the subject at all. I think it’s a breath of fresh air, and has some unlimited visual possibilities.I chose Atlantis for hell’s sake! Everything looks great as usuall. Best of luck,
Brad

The sketch is a great telling in itself, but I needed to read what you wrote about
“Tsukumogami” and Shinto cermeony to get a better understanding of the concept!
There are so many interesting and incredible myths and telling from the east that
are completely unfamiliar for the rest of the world, and I’m glad this challenge makes
it possible to get some of that rich cultural myths come to surface!
All the best!
