I have found a theme that inspire me a lot.
I can imaging the wildest dream of John Merrick(Elephant man):
He´s is on the dream a big and powerfull body, no mistakes no deformation all mighty body, BUT THIS BODY IS METAL.

So maybe could be very beautifull see him inside a steam machine in a old century style. Probably like most of the citizens of his time he was able to see in some time a steam engine, and this steam engine make him dream this yearning.

I think that the image I have done now, don´t have the kind quality I want to give to the image, mighty but kind like him, never in the dark side of the human psique.
I will try to kee thinking on this,

I have to make a new idea, this is not very mithycal, or legendary.

Ok, I will use a leyend like the path to finish this challenge.
Is the story if the day that John Merrick read about the Golem, Leyend from Prague. In that leyend(I supouse all of you knows someting about this) a jewish rabbi are able to make a kind of slave.
When John read make a big impression on him, so the next tnight he has a beautiful dream in wich that golem is his slave, and he is part of that golem. John was very imaginative, and he begang to thought on that Golem like a high tech machine, of course thinking on the age high tech means “Steam Engine”, so here is where I am.
Knowing tha John Merrick wanted to became a much better body that became a SLAVE of HIM.
With this I mean that the feeling of the body like your slave is the oposite of your concience slave of your body. Probably John felt the slave of his deformed and tired body, and I´m sure that in some moments he would dream with a mighty body.
Once again I´m splitted in two opions the kind and the violence. Not sure if he would like to get the “vendeta” or not.

I will change for sure the composition and the design of the Golem.
I will beging first with a good design of the Golem, and then I will return to the whole image.

I think that a good background story for the illustration sould see him scaping from the circus where he were a atraction.

Well, keep doing on the composition, I feel happy with this composition much more intimidating, here I don´t have to choose between good or bad actions, it is up to the viewer.
No intention to design anything on the Golem.

Only thinking on what to do with the face.
Maybe I prefer the hollow face because is more enigmatic, but in other hand the robot face is maybe much more graphic. Not sure yet.

I felt happy with the composition of John in the from semihide by the fog/steam and the steampunk golem in the background.

BTW, myabe is helpfull to post a rel picture of Mr. Merrick.
I´m not suing the makeup of the movie as reference.

Hola!

it would be something interesting to work about Mr.Merrick. I think in that time there was a kind of myth surrounding this man.

I think that some people that studied this case said that Merrick was a kind person and very sensitive, intelligent and accepted his physical condition. I think, in other words, he gave then and now a powerful lesson.

I don´t know, you could do something about the sensitive of that man and the society where he lived in…

Hello everybody:
Here is a little update on John.

I have made more secundary forms, but nothing finished, no warts or bulks yet, only anatomy.

About the image, I will try to make the image a little bit ambguos, nothing evil on it, and of course no violence.
i believe that John Merrick was one of the most kind people ever had this word.
