Stamens of Light
A scene I started along time ago, initially inspired by the work of Mucha. I had the chance to learn a couple of new things on the road.

Created in Marvelous Designer (dress), modeling in Maya, scene texturing / girl sculpting in Mudbox, cloth retopo and extra sculpting in ZBrush, background and post in Photoshop, render in Arnold.

Wow! The character is great but with the fantastic dress and the ornamental branches this really comes together. Congratulations! :bowdown:
I feel I really need to take at Marvelous designer again. :slight_smile:
When I tried an early version some time ago it just didn’t`t work like it should.

Not many pieces make my jaw drop due to their beauty and stellar execution, but this one did. The only thing that sticks out to me is the hair. The plants are so delicate and organic, but the hair is very sculptural & cartoony, for lack of a better word. Still, the overall image is one where the sum is grander than the parts. Just lovely work. :slight_smile:

I love the glitter on her skin. Subtle yet effective and really stands out on the turntable.
Even the base you made has such intricate detail.

Yeah, it is a really good software, it takes some time to get used to its workflow and interact with your daily sofware but it is worth it.

Thanks for the words Richard, I totally agree with you, I tried a hair system at first which I wasn’t totally convinced of since I was aiming to a different level of stylization at first, but at the end you are right, I guess the rest of the elements sticks out :stuck_out_tongue: thanks for your words and input! :wink:

Wow, I am always truly amazed by your work and I am anxiously awaiting the “everything you need to know to make charters like Stroggtank” tutorial. I didn’t think it was possible, but this is actually a step up from your previous works. Keep them coming!

The lighting and surface is so great!

May I ask how long it took you to render this piece? I tried Arnold once or twice, but I feel the render time was tooooo long for me
