I have a problem with the sub-surface scattering skin shader. When I render a scene with this shader applied to an object, the program freezes right before it begins to render (the render dialog box will say “current task: rendering” but will not move), then after some time (sometimes minutes) it will continue and start to render the image. This only seems to happen when rendering a scene that uses SSS Skin. Does anyone know why it is doing this and how I might solve the problem?

It is calculating the light map. If you have the mr message window open at rendertime, you will see the progress of this. Just watching it might make it seem a little faster:applause: .
