SSS & NormalMaps

I was doing some SSS tests (thanks for the video Gary Chike!) Using the zBrush Troll Mesh Metanurbs =10
Scene has 1 Sphere Light Raytrace Shadows.

This is probibly old news but, Plug the Normal Map into > Translucency.
Plugging the NormalMap only into the Normal setting, Caused the Normal Bump effect to be washed out when using SSS (Translucency Settings)

Although i have had decent results with bending the Character around, In the pmg Docs it mentions not to use Normal maps with Bone Deform, So what is a good way to Rig Using Normal Maps?
