Wow Squib, I really like this one! Lots of great movement…what was the inspiration?
Cheers,
Meredith

#63

thanks, Meredith

i dunno i just started scribbling on a lunchbreak… then i continued on a couple of
other lunchbreaks and took it home for the weekend to finish it

.

Cheers,

I like this one alot!

#66

Beautiful camera angle. Love it.

#67

haha - you seem like a neverending source of inspiration Mister Squib

It’s always such a joy to look at your submissions, always full of storytelling.

#68

Nice work, squib, especially on that last one, a really unusual image from that perspective. Took me a moment to realise the edges of her dress are where the white bits of lace… at first I though she was stuck in some kind of void (your armpit hair perhaps? grin). I really love the movement of the curtain with her though, lovely touch. Where will you take us next squib?

#69

thanks, Gord and Queenie, real nice of you to drop by, Kyena

yea Zephyri, i forgot some detailing ad texture from the dress, but i had
played with the pic so long i decided to give it a break and post it.
( and my armpits confuse me too much, especially when i’m tired, so
i better not get into that now, i’m not sure i even know half the stuff
that’s going on in there  )

where next? been struggling with some stuff like wrapping an image
around a line of text… like a poem or song lyrics… somehow very
difficult…like u gotta paint something as beautiful as the music
you hear, withou the music being there…

.

Wow I just have to stop by and tell you how impressed I am by your most unusual, not to mention funny, painting subjects! Every time I clicked on the link the picture JUMPED out of the screen and assaulted me! Amazing! I cant wait for you to post your next piece.

#71

another one that started on a lunchbreak… i call this Fearie Tragedy, cause the
pic on the left is what i got in a little over an hour and it was the type of pic i wanted
to make. Instead, I spent hours working on the pic, chnaging this and that , not really
getting anywhere , and ending up with the pic on the right… sort of sacrifing feeling to
flashiness.

It’s no that bad , but not what I aimed for , thinkin about going back to the early version
and give it another try … maybe finish both? :stuck_out_tongue:

Any ideas ?

I like the first one better too, even though it is rougher.
It has somehow more personality as where the second one looks really lovely but like a normal generic fairy painting.

The skin color looks a bit flat at the moment. Mix some of those fancy background colors into her hair and skin. Make the skin color more saturated where it casts shadow in itself.

The definition of the chest/shoulder area on the second one is better.
Maybe mix the two together somehow?

#73

I totally agree with Kyena, you are indeed a source of inspiration

I really enjoyed seeing all your sketches in this thread. You got great style!!!

what about feeling the flashiness? XD it could work!

But I also agree with Kyena on this, I do like the first one more, it has more freedom of hand and more feeling. (And the lips look better that size) hehehee

#74

Nice to see some new work Squib, I’m gonna go with the flow and agree that the first one is nicer - it may just be that the colours on my monitor are totally messed up but the skin looks a little too saturated to me.

I think you should go back to the first one and work from there, but keep the hair from the second one because it’s lovely. I like how the background colours work too.

#75

here’s another, i tried to make it better , but couldn’t , so i didn’t post
the latest version cause it looks worse

#76

Very nice colors choices on this one. Also draws attention to the contrasting color of the lady’s face. I feel like that head is gonna get it any second.

#77

cool - mongolian Sinbad meets Medusa.
good body langauge
I like her dress

Gord

#78

haha yea not like i did any research, i just tried to remember some
clothing and hairstyles that looked cool ,maybe shoulda put them
on a glacier, surrounded by petrified koalas, for an extra touch ,hehe…

ah, might have been a bit too much tho :stuck_out_tongue:

.

#79

no way man - the image is great POP culture - like Saturday matinee TV!

Gord

PS: Hey - maybe u should do a whole lot of these images and then call George Lucas
