Spring solver for UV relax



I am interested in improving upon the crappy UV relaxation that exists in 3ds max. I have learnt that DeepUV and possibly Maya use some kind of spring system to move the UV edges closer to the lenght of the edges in the mesh. Does anyone know where I can get a quick intro to 2D spring solvers?



UVHelp is the only attempt I’ve seen. Unfortunately it is an encrypted script, but maybe you could contact the author for feedback.

I’d love to see an option for this in Max. DeepUV’s relax is very capable.
