Hello all. This is going to be a really interesting challenge, since this topic is soo vast. I have a lot of ideas right now and they all seem like they will definatly going to be a challenge for me. The ideas that I’m having will probably include lots of plant life, water, fire and possibly large cityscapes. I will be focusing on some type of natural disaster, destruction, apocalyptic event that hasn’t been done before. This will have to take a lot of planning and brainstorming because of course I’m not a terrorist. This challenge should include a lot of particle effects which again, I’m not that good at. Anyway, off to brainstorming and I’ll be back with my sketchs soon.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE ENTRIES!!

good luck dude all the best!

I’m also not the greatest in 2D, and I’m also away from my tablet. So, I put this collage together for my concept.( Be nice, it only took a few minutes)

LOST CITY OF KUBOTYAN

…story coming soon

#6

Could be a cool idea, discovery of a lost city, maybe the people making the discovery could be falling though the ground or something. An explanation as to why it hasn’t been discovered yet, hidden in some way either on purpose or by nature. Don’t know. Just an idea for you.

THE DISCOVERY OF KUBOTYAN

After the turn of the mellenium, when the greenhouse effect and global warming had melted all of what we knew to be Antartica, evidence of a once mythical city proved that there was civilization there before the ice age.

Archeologists and scientists searched for thousands of years in that area to find this lost city with no luck. Dense forests and foilage now grew where once life could barely live at all, and temperatures in this uninhabitated country made it difficult to search for a very long time.

Until one determined archeologist believe that he held the key to the city. Columbian Jake set out for a long voyage in the year 3154. He brought with him his sidekick Pint who has worked with Jake for many years.

THE SHOT

Columbian Jake and Pint have been searching for 143 days and nights, and this is the historical moment when they have chopped throught last bunch of trees and bushes to reveal…

Hey spirogyro, love the concept man and very prommising theme.Cant wait to see more progress:thumbsup:

#9

Spiro I’ll be nice with your collage, great idea all I can say is the collage took 3 min the actual image will take 3 months, good luck to you.

#10

Lol, I thought you drew that at first and was like, “He made that in one and a half days?” It looks cool, but make sure the background is REALLY cool. Right now it looks like… not THAT awe inspiring. Maybe add some gold stuff or giant statues? I don’t know… Good luck and use those creative juices!

ar LutiK: Tell me about it, a lot of plants and trees, the ruins, 2 characters. Yeah i will have my hands full.

gardogg: There will definatly be alot of gold and the lighting will bring that out as well.

Mr Micro26: Thanks, me too!

Good concept - will be interesting to see how it works in 3D…

#13

Very nice idea - and a challenging amount of work to be done of course!

#14

agree with james comment about challenging ammount of work, but it can be come out a very strong image !

#15

better resolution than original, I also took out the lady since she’s not in my story.

#16

It could really work well I think!

However, to add to the mysterious sense of this moment - and most importantly to convey it to a random audience who see only the picture, and don’t know anything about the story surrounding it - maybe you should consider keeping some typically antarctic features in the background somehow… maybe there could be some elevated terrain in the background that still looks snowy/icy… that would even increase the contrast of the image in a good way - the buildings and vegetation being so much more out of place and enigmatic.

.

#17

Yeah, I definatly agree. I will have to see how everything will evolve together. I’m probably gonna start modeling the palace first (whole, then I will break it up and make it look really old and falling apart, yet leaving some peices, probably gold and metel pretty intact) then the characters and last the terrain and foilage. The ruins are actually a hotel in South Africa called the Sun City or Lost City or something, so I’m trying to gather some imagery and trying to figure out how to “not” make it look like a hotel. But definatly some ice caps would be cool.

#18

Hey Spiro, you seem you have already finished
Best wishes

#19

LOL! I wish. Thanks, good luck to you too!

Lots of vegetation will be a pain to do, but looks real promising. Now I wish I had done a simple collage instead of trying to draw which I really can’t, ending up confusing people with my concept.
