Latest Update: Concept Sketch: Arctic Antlantis

#2

First concept sketch. More of a mood layout than of an actual design guide.

Atlantis. Spotted in the antarcitca.
Now this is one large free floating iceberg. And as it is said, it is only the very tip that is actually above the sea. Down in the dark, cold waters of the antarctica, this iceberg reaches for miles and miles. A culture forgotten for tens of thousands of years - but yet very alive, carved a gargantuan metropolis into its icy walls. Layered stone and glass and ice and a whole lot of materials, we, above the surface have propably never heard of… There are powerlines, tunnels of transportation, blocks of buildings, factories - a lot of differnet structures shaped andf built by a culture very different to ours. There is even a bunch of gigantic propellers to slowly move the colossus of ice through the darks seas…

No human would ever have noticed, if not by chance an oilrigger shot a picture half above and half below sea level…

Inspiration.
Some might remember a fake photo of an iceberg collaged into a similar above-sea-below-sea fashion. It was sent by email extensively some months ago. Although being a fake, and not a good one, the image was indeed spectacular. It fired my imagination.

I will develop this project together with a workmate of mine, Peggy, whom I’d like to give all credits and respect for the support, the inspiration and the help with our idea. We are really looking forward of showing you much more of our “spectacular” vision until the 5th of December.

Cheers,
Marcus
