Well this being my first challenge I am still working on the sketch and looking for a way to get it scaned in the computer. I am working with a few ideas but the one I like the most would be the Masquerade Ball. I am hoping to have a sketch finished tonight and scan it in at work. Just wanted to get the idea out there before I saw that some one else had started working on it before me.

Thanks everyone.

Well I don’t really like the perspective, but I hope to define this better with the 3-D models.
It has been years since I have sketched anything and I am useing a scanner from work so it came out pretty light.
Sorry.

#4

Just an additional sketch of some mask ideas.

#5

One more additional sketch.
Was trying to play with some different scene ideas.

#6

Somekind of masquerade? It’s a brilliant idea I think. All the masks, colorfull costumes…

Keep on goin’.

Well this will be the first body model that I have created. This will be a very big learning experience for me.
If anyone knows of a good body tutorial, Pleaese let me know. Thanks for all the help in advance.

  • The head is based on a tutorial that I found online when I first started to get into the CG site of modeling. I am sorry to say I do not know where I got it.
I will use the head to create most of my masks. I will probably work back and forth on the masks and finish the bodies.

Good luck to everyone entered. This site is Rocks!!!

Hey all, Well I did not like what I did yesterday. I did not like how the topology was looking. It was easier to find a different tut and start over.
I found a good tutorial at silo3d.com.
Well here is my progress for tonight.
I am not the fastest modeler yet, 6 hours to figure out I didn’t like the last head and start a new one.
But for the first person I have ever created I feel pretty good.

Let me know what you think!, but be gental. I am a noob and only have access to free software.

This site still Rocks!!!
Many amazing artist.

Just trying to figure out how I want the scene to be laied out.

#11

Thanks DinoDog, I feel I will have to wait untill after the first of the year to get my Wacom.
To many things coming up I can’t avoid.

#12

I have only had a few hours over the last few days to work on this. I know it is not much of a change, Sorry.
I just need to get a good 8 hours to make some progress.
So very frustrating not having the time to work on this like I would like to.
Maybe tommarow?

#13

Well I am working on the masks along with all the rest of the concept. I hope that I can pull it all together in the end. If not, at least I am learning a lot and enjoying it.
Everyone elses work is looking very good. I hope it will not be to apperent that I really have know idea what I am doing. I added some color for appeal, but these will not be my final texturing. Everyone have a good weekend. Keep up the good work.

#18

hi SpaceDrake!
for a beginer ur doing very cool stuff! cool masks and the head came out nicely, still a bit confused about the concept!
cheers man!

#19

Nice idea… I think you should pay more attention to planning the entire shot. The human models are a bit too symmetrical… But all-in-all - Really nice.
