Pending any radical idea changes. This is my final scene sketch. Might do some color concepts, but this should give enough info.

I wonder if I should have submitted less sketches and waited until this final one. But I suppose it shows my thought process.

The initial idea was simply to have the tree breaking and the robot rescuing the girl. Now a dino (velociraptor-variant) is the device that breaks the tree and causes events to take place. He creates a sense of motion and urgency beyond the tree breaking. And is the cause of the effect.

Now the concept appears to be more rocking. When are you planning to start modeling, I can’t wait to see the 3d part of it.

Modeling should start next week. I’m going to do some more sketches for different elements in the scene and once I’m off next week…work will begin on more modeling.

I kinda feel your scene idea. Although, you did pick a great camera position with seeing deep into the canyon. That should be a good sight with some great details. The bear falling does help a lil drive the idea. At least to me personally. edit Good action taking place with the tree breaking. Continue strong, would like to see how it develops from your concepts.

Hoping the POV works well. I may end up adjusting it. Looking for a view that will get all the action yet still capture the emotion of the scene. Thanks for the comments!

Well I’m taking the weekend off from working on the project. Take a step back and observe. And of course work 24 hours nonstop:)

great concept whats so great about it is the contrast between the little bear and its surroundings. Whats cool is that we normally think of dinosaurs and robots as much more interesting(atleast in the cg world) but here a bear is the focus.

Great log to be broken is surely a good idea to add some freak to the scene ass well “a chaser” too. But i am not sure that it must be a dinosaur. Dinosaur image is weared out i think. Too common.

Oook. Just wanted to let everyone know I haven’t dropped out or given up or anything. I just work 100+ hours in 7 days. But then I have 7 off. Usually I work on things like this on my 7 days off. But this past 7 off was spent me sick. I’m finishing up my work week and come Wednesday will begin work on modeling, pending any issues.
