My Entry in the Spectacular Contest is tentatively called Exabyte Mineshaft. I’m going to post a little extended definition of the entry soon. Basically, it’s an old mineshaft that was rigged to visually represent a large quantity of data from the web. Essentially, in the future a company creates a way to visually project data like a hologram (kinda neuromancer) The company that created it did so not only to advance technology, but as an artwork and testament to the future of man and information. against the walls of the 1000’s of monitors are rigged as part of the artwork, symbolizing an older form of computer interface. In the middle of the shaft, a spelunker and thrill seeker floats through the holographic with the help of a gravity harness, suspended nearly half a mile above the bottom of the tunnel.
