Latest Update: Concept Sketch: Mismatched Love 2

This is just one idea I have. When I was very little, my grandmother always told me she had faeries living in the bottom of her garden and I used to spend ages looking for them. I thought a good image for Spectacular would be that little girl’s face when she finally finds the garden faeries.

Here are some other ideas… both of which focus on “pure love” as the spectacular element so the key I think is the facial expressions.

A completely mis-matched couple who are hoplessly in love. The image shows them on their wedding day. I was thinking of a Norman Rockwell style for this one.

Another idea is a little girl playing dress-up and her mother watching from the door.

You have some nice sketches in here! I wish you luck!

Think I prefer the mismatched hopless love idea and will go with an old fashioned style complete with giggling kids or the couple floating away on love clouds… Just scribbling some quick ideas before I do a proper concept sketch.

This is the direction I’m going with the couple floating away on love clouds. Very girl, I know.

this is a history very nice… good luck!!

Hi Amerasu:

I love the idea of love as a theme for this challenge, and struggled with pages of sketches trying to capture this. My hats off to you for what you’ve done so far. I kept coming back to what I think is the purest love and that was a mother for a child but I just wasn’t sure how to make it “spectacular”.

Best of luck in the challenge and finding your vision.
