Spectacular 2D Entry: Ronen Bekerman
I’m trying to capture the moment before the snatch
of a fish from the water by the diving eagle. This is supposed to be a semi underwater scene showing both worlds before the interaction.
This really needs more work on posing the eagle and staging the under water part
I didn’t think much of the background yet
maybe just looking at the sun at the back with lots of glare? don’t know yet.
Nice scene so far!
Did you know that there are some big flying predators (I can’t recall their name) that actually totally immerse them into water to catch fishes? They dive at tremendous speed and enter the water.Maybe they catch fishes with their beaks rather than their talons. I think you can use that sort of pose to convey a greater sense of speed and point directly to the poor little fishes enhancing the focus of the scene and giving a center of interest.
Anyway, to make it more spectacular (I’ve been thinking a lot to the meaning of spectacularness since the beginning of the challenge) I think you have to put some more elements in the scene.I think even though nature itself is spectacular, this is not enough for this challenge. For example, you might want to turn this into a funny-spectacular scene. Maybe the two little fishes paid a shark for protection and he is just behind them with his mouth open, ready to catch the bird ?
Just unleash your fantasy!
Good luck.
I took your comments into account and came up with the idea of young eagles doing dive training
while the old folks look at them and the fish play along as targets
Don’t know if this is appropriate to this challenge
I think there was a sentence in the rules that said the images should be believable? Anyways, the concept is cool
I’ll keep work on this.
The scene is much more interesting now and I definitely like the 'target fishes
let’s see how it develops…!
