Latest Update: Line Art: line art submission

#2

I have no idea how you all get so far so fast…but I’m going to try to keep up…here are my first sketches, since the challenge was announced. I’m still trying to decide which concept to go with…

yay…I love this!

#3

welcome to the challenge :applause:

have fun and provide us some great sketches and ideas.

see you around

#4

ack…do I post every sketch as a milestone? I need to go read again…

sigh…

#5

Ok, I’m just going to add a bunch, and submit another milestone when I come up with the true concept, I guess.

These are the hippogrifs I was thinking about. I’ve never done buildings or any great backgrounds, so I thought this would be the biggest challenge to myself, considering what I have in my head…it would be pretty intricate.

#6

This is a VERY fast sketch of my very first idea…(can you even tell what it is?)

I think the idea is ok enough, but all the greys of the sea wouldn’t lend itself to being very spectacular…I don’t think…but I may explore it a bit.

also one more concept on the mermaid theme…something I’ve always wanted to paint, and probably will…just not for the challenge…

ok, that’s it for now…I’ve literally done hundreds of sketches in my book since this thing started…I’m hoping I’ll get a little feedback from some of you to help me decide…(I’m really new, so I understand)…

anyway…good luck everyone, I need to go check out some of your stuff!

#7

just another line drawing for the forest concept

#8

a lead character sketch, in case I go with the gryphon concept…(this is a pencil sketch, I hope it’s allowed)

#9

I was out drawing yesterday, when I saw my neighbor scolding her kids, and it hit me in a flash…here is a character sketch for the piece I will probably use as the entry. I’ll have a full concept in a day or so.

#10

fast concept sketch of my newest idea. Just putting up becuase I’d rather be safe than sorry…I really don’t know how much I’m supposed to put up.

The next submission will be the line art…

#11

I just realized Lynna popped in awhile back…thanks  I hope your entry goes spectacularly!!

#12

yo dude don’t stress they do it for living, it’s not a hobby,
I like that contrast, haven’t seen this for a while, probobly cause it’s not popular now
but that technik goes back to the masters,UR comp is very good, I don’t think It will sell,
if you know what I mean, but if you see the design and proprtion, you 've got it
from the GD point is great :applause:

#13

Goudy old style in black a little broken up and you there
I think is # 8
when the girl is bending t pick something up
perfect comp, :applause:

LOL…first of all, my sketches on my tablet are the worst I’ve seen, I have a need to curl up in a chair and flip my pad all over the place, can’t do that with the wacom…:banghead:…

this was just something to get the idea across…horrible as it is…the line art will be better, I promise…

what did you mean you haven’t seen it for awhile? contrast? lol…sorry…there will be a fair amount of contrast though…charred earth and all…but I’m thinking the piece will be almost monotone…don’t know yet.

thanks for popping in!!

#15

hey…you jumped in while I was typing! Thanks! Composition is my strongest point…it takes me hours to render on the tablet…

#16

I’ve been away for a couple of weeks, but have gotten a rough line drawing done…here you go, the dragon will be a wip until it’s done, I’m not sure where he’s going yet, the figure is basically set, and the background is still becoming clear in my mind…I just want to get to color now, I’m not good at working in greyscale…unless of course it’s going to be a finished grey scale piece…
