Spectacular 2D Entry: Mathew W. Waggle
My concept is two farmers who are best friends. They know a earth wrecking twister is coming but instead of running, they nail the table to the floor and strap in and have one last night of drinking whiskey together. Will they survive? Sure, why not?
My main goal is to give the feeling of scale and terror of the nasty storm coming and illustrate the calm of the two buddies as they resign to thier fate. Also maybe throw in som funny stuff, like flying cows or cats, etc.
Let me know what you think, I will try and do the same for you, thanks!
Very nice. It might be cool to extend the frame even further upwards to show the huge funnel blotting out the sky and dwarfing the men.
Christhatguy - Thanks alot. I wasnt sure if that would throw the comp off but once I did it the twister looks alot bigger and scarier. Thanks
KoryH - Thanks! good luck to you also
hie, i think this could turn out to be a spectacular yet magnifecent art work, alil more structure or buildings being shattered away by the huge twister would spice up even more~i’ll follow ur thread along the way!![]()
thanks Sh@ke! I will try to fit some buildings in there for you, I want all kinds of stuff going on, so we’ll see. I will be sure and watch you too.
LOL! Great concept and I couldnt help but giggle thinking of the two farmers with the house blown apart around them. Flying cows are definitely a must!
Cant wait to see your next update:)
Man, this piece is GREAT!!! So funny and very optimistic. I’m sure this guys will survive! In my country people says: “The God keeps drunkards and madmen”
I think it’s a good idea to show flying cattle or domestic animals. But how these guys are sitting on their chairs? Are they glued or nailed? :)))
This is a fantastic idea!!
And i really like the composition.
And if you can capture the “feeling of scale and terror of the nasty storm coming and illustrate the calm of the two buddies as they resign to thier fate” then it’ll be a truly spectacular piece!
And some cows or cats would be a bonus!
Mecha Hate Chimp- Thanks man, I hope I will not let you down
antTON- Yeah, I spent alot of time thinking it out, I didnt want to get lost in all the sci-fi pieces. So maybe my painting wont be the best, but the concept is original enough I hope to make a difference. I really like that saying too, we have a similar saying here in the states. But we have another saying that might fit “fortune favors the bold”
duddlebug- Your words are a great encouragement for me! Ill try to do the best I can. I have entered previous challenges and never finished on time, but maybe this is a good enough idea to persue to the end, thanks!
Haha, friends forever, of course!I think this image catch the idea of this spectacular challenge. A situation that happens once in lifetime. Dramatic but, I don´t know, full of hope and friendship:thumbsup:
Zalo
Great idea(I know you already heard that:) )ha,ha
really curious to see the next stages!!!Maybe some cars or tractors flying around or heading towards them,ha,ha
have fun!!!
Extreme drinking! Excellent. Makes me want to go and try it outside, right now. Where’s that f*cking beer?!
Reminds me of a true story (I still have the newspaper clipping somewhere) about some loggers who decided to prove who was the toughest during a drinking session. One cracked his own skull open with a frozen swede, and his mate responded by cutting off his own foot with his chainsaw. That’s nothing, said the first bloke, and cut off his own head. No joke, it actually happened!
Anyway, I’m waffling. This is great, I’d like to see it go all the way to finished. Keep it up!
Lol! Awesome idea. Cool imagery, and you can’t help but feel some love for those knuckle headed beer lovers.
Im struggling to get the right pose and emotion. thanks alot for all the motivational comments so far! I will respond very soon.
