Spectacular 2D Entry: Erik Fourie

#21

well, ive decided to stop my current concept.

dont have any other ideas. im not skillful enough to make anything look spectacular anyway, so i might just not enter anything.

but maybe in a month an idea will surface itself into my mind, and ill be back.

Hey man, just don’t give up…these challenges can teach you a lot!
If you are short of ideas here are some amongst mine I’ll not use:

the rise and fall of atlantis
the arrival of the gods
treasure of the templars
fight at the shaolin temple

anyway…just free your mind. It’s amazing how funny it is to think of spectacular things. Ideas will come and practice will make you better.
As once Feng Zhu said, if you are stuck just pick up two topics and fuse them toghether. the more contrasty, the better. like for example fishes and ammunitions. or landscape and chinese culture. Images will come to your mind…just try to put them down.

Hehe, you’re monologues themself are quite spectacular in a humoristic way. :stuck_out_tongue: Too bad you don’t want to go on with the concept. I liked the concept, however I agree it was probably going to be difficult to execute (hard to get a detailed image within the reflection of an eye I think).

Hope you come up with something else soon…good luck!

hehe, a thief finding the find of the century in an old tomb.
not too spectacular, but its not like im going for the win here.

ps, i did this with a mouse in a few minutes, and i suck with a mouse. hehe.
wish i had one of those what-ye-call-it-wacom-seomthing-thingies.

xillion, thanks for the encouragement! i think i will try something. and thx for some cool ideas!

koekebakker, hehe, thx! yes, i talk to myself whenever i can. hmm, i think im going to ask my mom to bake me a cake!

#26

Well, good luck on your new concept, then!

Good to see you finally post something up. Good start and i know how it feels to use a mouse. I hate it too. Just keep it up and we’ll be checking your progress.

cheers

not bad for the mouse, but you can actually achive qiute more with it if you use paths, I use this all the time in illustrator, don’t have tablet at work,
like hose dramatic colors a bit matbe to saturated, but maybe that’s what you want
anyway good luck,
ps paths in psd suck

i don’t know about any of that stuff. All i ever use is the fill tool and the pencil tool  i am so primitive. But it wouldn’t feel like me anymore if i went beyond those two rules.

Goodluck bro. Like all your concepts
