The concept came out of random conversations with friends and co-workers in recent months on the matters of ridiculous gas prices. Someone suggested everyone should buy bikes. Someone else said horses. From there came accommodation ideas for those poor animals, accessories such as anti-horsenapping locks and etc. And here I thought, seriously, how awesome would it be to see business men and women with their suits and suitcases, rushing to work on their Mary-Janes and Seabiscuits? How about doing so when horse riding isn’t universally acceptable as mode of transport: how would commuters on horseback look when narrowly avoiding accidents with SUVs and minivans? How indeed

It’ll be pretty hard to make this idea spectacular if you compare it to the meteors and huge monsters that everyone’s going to be developing in their ideas. Pardon my opinion but this still seems a little too ordinary since in Canada they got these rangers, who ride on horses, roaming around the streets… You’re not gonna be getting their votes on this :slight_smile: No offense meant. I love the your sketch though. Peace.

if theres one i thing i luv to do its exaggerate angles and make things appear bigger or smaller in this case ur horses head compared to the legs

I think this is plenty spectacular! Im sure if the CG admins wanted dystruction and explosions they would have named the challenge something like… “Dystruction and Explosions”.

A very spectacular chase/escape scene! love the motion and expression on the horses face!

You know what? I take back what I said in my last post. I guess it doesnt matter if you’ve got a simple idea, it’s how you’re gonna present it that’s gonna make it spectacular. That’s exactly what happened with Spielberg’s War of the Worlds. The idea’s nothing new, but it was thrilling and exciting the way it was portrayed that it still managed to take my breath away. Sorry for being negative. Keep at it! This is gonna be great.

Great first concept sketch, very dynamic and good perspective. I’d insert some more ingredients, though, something like spinning cars avoiding the horses, suggesting a near collision. But you’re definitely on the right track, personally I prefer this direction instead of the ‘common’ collossal monsters and massive explosions. Keep it up!

Very nice! I love the cartoon-like look. Love the characters (horse is the best!). But I think that cars just don’t belong there
maybe some scared people on the sidewalk
