Spectacular 2D Entry: Adam L. Richards
I have some ideas, but nothing too concrete yet. I’m deffinetly doing some sort of fantasy/steam punk world, im just not sure of the actual shot yet. just developing the world for now.
So ive been working on some compositions and i kind of like this one. It will be a large city shot, people looking over the balcony in the forground, a train station down below, and an blimp docking port to the right.
basicly I’m going for a ‘spectacular’ environment, but im thinking that may be too weak a use of the topic. Most people will be doing massive explosions, daring acrobatics, and incradible crashes, so im afraid this may be too ‘tame’ a subject. Mabie i could draw a guy jumping from a roof top to a passing by blimp?
hmm… not sure yet.
i think futuristic cities aren’t that *spectacular anymore cos they’ve been depicted so many times before, but i do like this image!
hm, maybe you could use a radical perspective, viewing from a dynamic element within the scene to turn those tame city-env. more spectacular? Just an idea.
ok, now it isnt just a prity city. I enlarged the shot and added a tiny figure jumping from the roof to a passing blimp. I kind of thought it would be cool if there were a fugative on the run from the police, and in his last cornered attempt for freedom he made a spectacular leap hoping to reach the passing vehicle.
I kind of like that it takes the viewer a while to realise there is someone in great danger in the scene. I could try a closer shot, possibly from above, but im afraid that might loose the grand scale of whats going on.
I duno. Im going to explore other possibilities, but this one gets a bookmark as one of my favorates.
