Special mountain creation question

#1

I found this:

He said he used displacement materials.

I looked through the internet but couldn’t find a tutorial for that and he don’t answer.

So anyone know how to make such mountains?

Hi

well, I think the first steps are more or less obvious. The pillars you can simply create in the terrain editor. There is no special trick. Then you add the displacement to the bump of the rock material and this gives you the rough structure of the rock surface.

Play around with stretched Metablobs, Hyperblobs, and Hypertextures. Throw your favorite displacement material on them.

Simply create the underlying objects\shape in a Modeling program(don’t have to be exact) or VUe then use the paint tool to paint vegetation onto it. Easy.

Metablobs and Hyperblobs could work yes I will try that out

How you create such pillars in the terrain editor?

Create a new terrain, then edit and sculpt the terrain, for example with the “rise” paint brush.

You’re funny. He asked, “How?” Show us some pics of these pilars you’ve made with the editor.
