howdoyoudowhatyoudo, this took about a week to make. I modeled everything except the trees and plants which are from Xfrog.

@esper77: i love ur work , when i used Xfrog tree with vray i always recieve UVW error , have u ever been like that ???

Im currently going to Full Sail in Florida for 3D Animation. I’m leaning more towards environment modeling, are the textures painted in with photoshop or normal maps?

Awesome piece either way! Gives me incentive. =)

Nice image, well done but not perfect. I think the texturing and modeling are done very well. The image itself isnt very dramatic though. The basics are missing - not enough contrast in the image. The light source isnt obvious, shadows are conveluded. All the materials seem to be exactly the same and without specular- everything is matte finish. Its realistic, but not photo real- probably due to the lack of reference that you mentioned. Even though GI will get you an overall nice render, determining the values that tie your composition together is very important. Same with tweaking the lights to get your form changes to read. Good stuff though. Keep it up!

RKlein, the textures weren’t painted in Photoshop. Most of them are from various texture websites.

ncxxf, the only Vray light in the scene is in under the arch on the right. I used a direct light for the sun.

Lovely work as usual.

It may be intentional, but the edges of the building, arch etc. are too clean for their age. perhaps a little noise in this quiet scene?
