some great reference pics for you guys and gals

try www.corbis.com for reference pictures. Just type in whatever you want a reference of in the search field (example: man, woman, nude, leg muscle, baseball) and you’ll probobly get 10,000 results. It helps if you get a membership so you can change your viewing options to 100 thumbnails per page and it gets rid of the watermark found on the photos.

I normally use this place for Nudes when I want to do some figure drawing. It can be hard for me to keep my mind on the drawing when using nude model photographs from some of the other reference sites. This place is great, I’ve found hundreds that don’t have that “naughty” look.

only con to this site is that the pics aren’t hi-res unless purchase them. But thats how they make their money. So cheers to both.

Yeah, good old Bill. He knows how to make a good resource.

Thanks for posting this! Seems like a very useful site.

#5

Yes, good site for drawing reference. Less useful for photo manipulation because of the watermark on the enlarged images.

you can also check out http://www.sxc.hu/
afaik a great site, but login required for high-res photos.

Also try this one :

http://www.fordmodelseurope.com/index.asp

Here you have mostly professional photos and all kinds of expressions and positions.

But please don’t just copy them - try only to use them as references or a sort of prebuilt sketches for some personal projects. The advantage is that you often have a good lighting from the beginning.

Wow. Thanks! I can already see this site will be a great resources/help for me and my webcomic.—Al

I’m all about sharing good reference sites, its just that I know so many people have seen so many others before, so wonder if people will notice this one. I’ve been using this site for over four years now, its only gotten better. Saves me hours of searching the net and other forums for good sites and references.

Corbis is a cool site, I’ve used it in the past but not in awhile. They’ve redone things since last time I used their site. It’s definitely alot better than what it use to be.
