Some advice on vray distance tex?



I’m toying a little with vray distance texture. I am trying to control one objects opacity to be controlled by how close two other objects in the scene are together.

Is this possible with distance texture?

Is there another way if not?


I haven’t tried vraydistance texture yet, but you can also use the falloff map to controll a map by the disctance to another object. Just choose distance blend for falloff type and object for falloff direction, pick an object in the field below and set the distance blend parameters!


yeah. i have tried that but i get the same results as witch te vray distance. If i could control the opacity of the object with one of those maps it would be great. Now i only controlles the opacity where its nearest to the object.
