and maybe just maybe Roberto is talking about two separate challenges.

Ok, maybe it´s not so Spielberg related, but I post it here too:
Here are some suggestions for the next FXWARS after the Draculas Castle:
- Launch of a nuclear rocket from a submarine which is UNDER water.
The rocket launches from the submarine, goes it´s way to the water surface, the outer
hull gets off and the engine of the rocket starts. The blast interacts with the water.

Lot of effects like fluid dynamics, particle dynamics, volumetrics and some mechanical
stuff
- Air strike of a WW2 airplane against a german submarine which is on water
surface
Submarine is on the water surface while a british or american warbird approaches. It
starts firing on it with it´s mg or if it is a british one also with some small rockets. Some
of the munition hit the water, some the submarine. Finally the submarine explodes.

Lot of effects like fluid dynamics, particle dynamics, volumetrics and some mechanical
stuff
Within these topics a lot of nice modeling can be done, nice camera movements are possible and A LOT OF FX AND ACTION! :buttrock:
So what do you think? In addition with some music this can become a nice cinematic!

yea … or a shark but i like alien stuff so , i hope its about aliens …
and i hope youll give us some more time … this dedline was imposoble for us newbies .
How soon we forget really good movies…spielberg, dreyfuss…“Always”.
Planes, Forest Fires, Ghosts, smoke, live action-dreyfuss the ghost walking out/away from a plane crash…could be easy, could be your worst nightmare everything thing in one shot;live action, FX,Trees, camera movement. I’d guess it’d be create a trailer to that end…plane brushes tops of trees coming out of a dive, crashes, hero emerges from the flaming inferno
Don’t think the hints are meant to be “obvious” ones LOL
Looking forward to what it will actually be
edit…forgot the second crash where dreyfuss apears to be walking away from another crash in the herion’s eyes and fades to the co-star (forget the name) the heroin’s new physical boyfreind. Dreyfuss was the deceased one LOL…

hey would ‘bruce’ be another clue? if your a spielberg fan your’ll now what im talking about.
eek
Well it must be CEotTK…
From JAWS Trivia
With the schedule ballooning from 52 to 155 days, ‘Steven Spielberg’ had to juggle Universal’s impossible deadlines, an unfinished script, chaotic conditions off Martha’s Vineyard and a belligerent actor in Robert Shaw. On the last day of shooting, Spielberg wore his most expensive clothes to deter a dunking from the mutinous crew. As soon as the shot was captured, he jumped in a speedboat and sped shoreward yelling, “I shall not return.”
Of course the Close Encounters trivia states
It is possible to see an upside down R2-D2 (from Star Wars (1977), etc) in part of the large spacecraft that flies over Devil’s Mountain. The SFX people needed more detail, and so supposedly there are many more such items, such as a shark from Jaws (1975) (also directed by Spielberg), etc. R2-D2 is visible as Jillian first sees the mothership up close from her hiding place in the rocks.
Which could lead one to believe that ILM did have a hand in the film… this could only mean one thing. The topic is unicorns.
another clue: spielbergs first film?
baaaaa–booooo–dee-do-dee-de-?
bbbaa–baaa–boooo–deeeeeee?
piano?
eek
Or maybe the challenge will consist of an alien-shark fight…in sea…maybe…would be cool!
Thanks,

Hmmm sounds interesting. Me thinks it is a loose reference from the ending scenes of Close Encounters - the people coming out of the space ships are people who have gone missing in the…
BERMUDA TRIANGLE! - fits the whole spielberg, dreyfus, williams thing as well as the caribean and character animation thing.
My other guess would be PORKY’S II. Break out the POSER Nudes!
Bruce was the name of the robotic shark in Jaws, named after Spielbergs lawyer…
So thats the next challenge?.. a shark scene under water?! I"M SO IN!!!..
This needs to be a 2-3 month project… for sure
Oye Roberto, if it is Jaws, I might make time to join this challenge. I’m a huge Jaws fan.

Might be coincidental, might not, but…
I hadn’t seen Close Encounters for many years and on a whim decided to ask my TiVo if it was on any time soon for a refresher.
Strangely enough, it’ll be running twice Sunday (8pm/11pm EST) and again on Monday (5pm EST) on AMC here in the States.
Happy taping

had no idea something this exciting was going on here. I hope i can join the next one, did i mention i already have a shark model?
There are two other possible candidates other than Jaws and CLose Encounters for pre-81 films.
Those are:
1941,
and
Surgarland Express.
John Williams did the score for both these films. I don’t know about the other clues fitting and neither has anything to do with the Carribian… but then neither does CE3K.
