In zbrush, you could hold a button and smooth your sculpting. This was very useful for creating nice and clean gradients between the sculpts.
Is there a similar function in mudbox?

It’s exactly the same in Mud.Hold shift to activate the smooth brush whilst using and brush or choose the smooth brush as your current brush
Oh really? Ooops, I tried holding shift and brushing a surface, but nothing happened. I guess I didn’t brush enough.
Thanks! Now I see no reason to go back to zbrush. Mudbox has a much friendlier interface, and its in the autodesk family.
make sure you play around with the brush strength as it can have a dramatic effect.Brush size also plays a role when using the smooth brush as well as falloff and what subdiv level you’re on.
Also remember at higher subdivision levels the smooth effect will be less and only work on the finer details. Sometimes its necessary to step down a level or two to smooth the larger forms.
