Smooth mess up my UVW's [3ds max]


So, I modelled some hard surface mesh in 3ds max 9. Its cool, I satisfied with it and unwrap it for texturing. Looks fine for now:

When I done with unwrapping, I think “lets then smooth the hell outta it!” and add a meshsmoth modifier. But then… that happens:

Seams of my UVW’s got stretched and messed. How do I fight this plague? How do YOU fight it?

If everything fails add another unwrap on top of the MeshSmooth.


So, there is no solution besides collapsing modifier stack? That’s a pity.
