Small Gods Units Art

Hi there.
Here Im goin to present to You the art for some of the units for my game Small Gods. The game is borwserbasedmmorpg, but unfortunatelly you want be able to see it outside Bulgaria. (Maybe after month or two, because i doens`t have enough servers yet).

The whole game is a web site (Its totaly free & i made the whole engine myself, yep its engine - php+ajax+flash & Actionscript, the source is about 10Mb). For now ive got more than 15 000 users and its maybe the biggest bbs in bulgarian. Unfortunatelly i still havent enough money to make the game worldwide available (not enough servers, not enough internet trafik). The game is turn-based and i work on it in my free time. The "cards" above are the "icons" for the units in the game. 10 of them are pretty classic - Elementals, Golems, Dragons. But the rest (total 34) are 100% from my imagination. I began the "cards" with the classic ones. After i finish all of them, i will see what I have as critique (Ive posted them in more than 4-5 forums) and I will make some of them form scrach. So please be more “rude”. Give back more critique!!

Some aditional info:
In this game youre God. You have a "bodymorgue" with body parts, where youre able to put together your god-creature. You have army, Special Monsters to hire (the cards which i make right now). You can cast magics and create/use potions… and ofcourse youre able to go to war with almost everybody… )))

The units are 34. And 9 of them are align specific (Good Align - 3 units, Neutral Align - 3 Units, Evil Align - 3 Units).

These are really nice, quite rich. They would look really nice as a some cards. Hell spawn is my fav. Keep up the nice work.

The unicorn took me a lot of time. In this case I even look at some references. But to make a horse/unicorn was pretty hard (why the good units are always so difficult to make… :slight_smile: )\

I’ve got to agree with everyone who’s posted so far - the work is great and has a stunning aesthetic, very well executed. I’m amazed at your ‘work resolutions’…how do you get so much detail with it so small??

You asked for ‘rudeness’, which, to be frank, won’t happen, but I will say: fire-elemental, I can’t really read the anatomy of this creature (question is, does it have one?). Also, I personally don’t like the silhouette effect you’ve used for the distant leg/underbelly of the unicorn - it looks a bit too ‘graphic’, too simple, I can’t imagine a lighting scenario which would give that effect…maybe just me though. Overall a outstanding series. Keep at it!

WOW these are beautiful…I love the roughness that you’ve worked into all of the cards kind of like images coming from the deepest dwellings of imagination, although I have to admit that unicorn is astounding first i can imagine it did take a bit of time to meld your raw gritty style with a creature that embodies purity, light , grace, and has an over all smoothing feel… but you accomplished this, YAH…awsome Second I always LOVE to see someone take a Iconographic Idea that has been steriotyped and spin it just enough to create a new perspective or idea with out loseing the essence of the subject… way to go your rework of the unicorn horn is sweet… very fresh

I’m interested in your technical approch to these are you working in PS or painter, please elaborate

My favorite is the Lich King- he’s like something between pirates of the caribbean zombie and lord of the rings army of the dead…great stuff!
