Slowing Down Fluids Simulation

Hello Guys,

Working on a shot where an Fast moving character is burning.

Need a workaround to slow down the fire simulation without changing the behavior of the fire.

Tried changing the Simulation rate scale but it changes the behavior.

Retiming the fluids cache doesn’t help.

Is there a method Like Post Simulation in Fumefx,where we can control the speed after caching.

Please let me know if i am missing out something.

As far as I am know, increasing the cache steps and changing simulation rate will both change the behaviour of the fluid.

… unless I am wrong and there is another way which I am unaware of…

Depending on the shot and how much you need to slow it down, you could simply use kronos in Nuke, but only if it needs to be marginally slower. Simulation rate scale will change the behaviour.
