Slow with new nVidia drivers?

#1

I just thought i would update my drivers as it has been some time. Now wings is dragging like a sick horse. If i choose a tool, it thinks about it for a few seconds, then it’s fast and handles well. But each time i choose a new tool, it has to think about it a lot. This is all on the same scene that hasn’t had any gemotry added. Is it the drivers, wings, or something else?

new driver version 91.31

i was raving about this too, new nvidia drivers turned wings3d into a crawling animal. Selecting a face takes 2 seconds.

Can someone with a nvidia card report this to nvidia
I have an ATI card so it’s hard for me to report it.

Be nice and include links to wings and tell them how to reproduce it,
i.e. right click to create a cube, press smooth 4 times, select face or whatever you do to see
the slow down.

I have reported several bugs to ATI and they have fixed their drivers each time it wasn’t me that
messed it up.

Post or email me if they think wings needs to be changed.

i’ve heard from our IT dept that the new drivers screw up opengl bad. Can’t even use maya with the new ones. Roll back to 87.XX i think.

hihi, I bet this has something to do with vista

It’s a shame anyway. nVidia used to program really good drivers…
I hope there’s an update soon as I was planning to resume modelling soon
