Hi…SPIRIT WIND…

Just stopping in to say HI…
Was looking for that self portrait of you in here…the one that captures your TRUE FEELINGS and SPIRIT…
I have a great book that you should get, if you have the chance, it’s called…AMERICAN INDIAN MYTHS AND LEGENDS…Selected and edited by Richard Erdoes and Alfonso Ortiz…Pantheon Fairy Tale and Folklore Library…
I think you would love it…will give you alot of inspiration, spark your imagination, and give you some great ideas for your paintings I think.
HAVE A GREAT DAY…SPIRIT WIND…
TAKE CARE
Glenn

love the cartoon - hillarious!!!

my fav is the novel piece - I love that clean concept of not much happening around them so we concentrate on the two figures! Beautiful painting:thumbsup: are they both dead there? or is it only one? or none?.. I was just wondering about the skin tones… in any case LOVE it!

Wow, your work is mesmerizing. Not only great technically, but such fantastic creativity and imagination. I’m surprised you’re not doing concept work somewhere already, because you seem like you would be a fantastic concept artist.

Glenn: I have a couple of books on Indians and found this amazing online book too, which I really want to get round to reading, but I’ve not heard of that one, so definitely putting it on my list. I’m fascinated by the culture of Native American Indians. Your own work was an influence on that piece, especially in the boldness of colour, so thank you.

Intervain: thanks! And the novel piece is symbolic mostly. Neither of them are dead, the blood is representational of the violence they both went through, that bound them together. Same with the guns and bullets and their nakedness… all have meaning pertinent to the character’s stories (they are the two main protagonists from my novel).

Windarr: you’re very sweet! I’m working towards becoming a concept artist, still brushing up on anatomy, and color and more importantly speed, but that’s my ultimate goal!

I feel really bad for not having been around here in so long! Work has kept me busy, and any free time I get, I tend to spend over at pixelbrush’s forums, since they were kind enough to make me a moderator, I kinda feel a duty to have as much input there as I can (I know how you feel, Rebecca, and I still don’t know how you manage the huge contribution you’ve given here while still retaining some kind of outside life!).

And this will be something of a dump and run, since I’m supposed to be painting Saints again, before I leave for the States in under a week (plus finishing two minatures and a couple of commissions while doing three days a week full time design… aye aye!) so please forgive the apprent selfishness… the minute I grab some free time, I’ll be all over these forums like a rash! Ehehehe.

Some more recent work/wips:
This was done as a challenge on pixelbrush, to do a self portrait from a bygone era. You can see the steps in this thread: Challenge thread

Both the following are for an article in Imagine FX on colour:

Pencil character work, the werewolf is mid-transition, my aim being to make the anatomy believable enoug that it could stretch into animal form, albeit painfully… reference: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/42410185/

WIPs:
Coloured pencil, originaly started it in oils, but had a major falling out with the medium!

And the ongoing novel piece:

This day is full of good new stuff in this forum! Lots of updates by great artists, always a pleasure to see. And me going around asking, what helped you the most with doing imaginational work? Was it life drawing? I feel bad for not doing a lot of life drawings and if it is the thing that helps the most with imaginational stuff, then damn, I’ll have to change some things.
Oh, I love that jungle pic for the Imagine FX magazine!
Are you going to finish the piece you started for the OFDW?
