Peter,
We’d love to have you join the OFDWs!! :bounce:The nice bit about them is that they’re free, and don’t require you to find housing in Vancouver.

Cheers,
~Rebecca

Yay, new images are up from satudays session. It was a so-so session though, the last hour I just couldn’t draw properly so it turned out cacapoopoo. But I did get some images done that I don’t have to be ashamed over
Also uploaded one face, one hand study, eye-nose thing and a sketch I did in composition class.
Images!

As always, more images at: http://www.urgaffel.com/lifedrawing
Peter,
cacapoopoo??? ROFL!!!
Great to see your stuff here, and I think you very well may be learning stuff up there in chilly Canada, ay?
Sorry…it’s overdone, but I just can’t help it!
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
It’s so cold here  And it will only get colder I guess… sigh Good thing I have a thick jacket with me. Anyway, I’m glad that it shows that I’m learning things
Shading is a lot more fun now that I have gotten a few pointers and now what to think of. I did know about bounce light and the difference between shadows and shade but it just didn’t work properly. Now I’m at least beginning to make it work
More stuff to come (I hope, otherwise I will be making regular appearances in the OFDW ;))

Speaking of ‘ay’, I called a lady about a place to stay a few weeks ago and she actually ended all her sentences in ‘ay’. I couldn’t believe my ears lol

ROFL! Stereotypes are true!
Hey Peter,
Good to see these! How large are these? Are you working on a large newsprint pad?
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
I have to confess that I’m completely ignorant when it comes to pads so… I have no idea. It’s larger than a3, slightly yellow/beige paper, not very rough surface. I’ll ask tonight what they are called
I try to use as much as possible of the pad for the longer sketches so they can be anything from one sq foot to a couple of inches tall
Peter,
Just say no to pad ignorance!
No worries…I will survive another day without knowing the exact texture and dimensions of your drawing surface…somehow.
Good to see more work of yours! How much longer in the program?
Cheers,
~Rebecca
Only 4 more lessons  Today is composition and stuff, tomorrow another lifedrawing session, saturday is review time of our final assignment and on monday is more reviews and perspective and that be the end of it. I need to re-book my ticket home too sigh Hopefully I’ll be able to do some sort of OFDW when I get back to Sweden. 2 and a half hours left to lesson…
Peter,
Vancouver seems like an awful long way to travel for life drawing lessons…are there none in your area? I know that you’re interested in the school, though, so my point may be moot.
I’m a moot pointmaker…it’s a genetic property.
Sorry to hear you only have a few lessons left…I hope you get the most out of them possible, and return triumphal to the land of your birth!
Ah…Koreans have a flair for the moot and the dramatic.
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
True, but it was a condition they had for me to be accepted to the full time 3d program. My 2d was weak-to-non-existent so I took this course to get better at it. The idea was that I was going to start on the 3d program directly after it but it got pushed up until Jan 2nd because of economic woes and needing to get a student visa and whatnot…
We get an extra lifedrawing class on tuesday next week since they didn’t provide a teacher last week :bounce: so I have two more classes before it ends
You also seem to have a flair for rofl:ing like no other
Besides a dramatic flair is always nice and making moot points is… er… maybe not the most usefull of skills but I like you regardless
ROFL…I’m glad I pass the bar!
Much good luck to you in terms of the 3D program
~ I’m sure you’d do quite well. But…wouldn’t you study someplace, you know, warm!!!
Cheers,
~Rebecca
I’d love to. On the other hand, I love Vancouver and VFS is cool so I just have to hang in there for a couple of months before it starts to get warm again in april-may
It’s that time again: more lifedrawings!

One last session on tuesday
edit
Forgot to mention that I used graphite pencil on the first three and conté on the last 10 min sketch.
Peter,
That last one is really nice ~ you’ve really started to get some confidence and moreover, movement in that one! Great stuff!
It’s also nice to see you work with shadow shapes a bit. They can be a really great way to approach the breakdown of a figure when drawing.
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
New images from the last session

That’s it for this time, now to participate in the OFDW and try to draw people out and about in Stockholm
And in January school starts again weeeeee :bounce:
Peter,
Are you back in Sweden now?
The upper torso and buttocks of the upper right piece are quite nice! The lower leg and foot falls apart a bit, which is where Anatomy Studies would come in handy.
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
Yeah, I know… I will try to do some anatomy studies on my own
I will have to download pictures from the OFDW and then I’ll try to draw traditionally (or maybe dare to do some wacom stuf…) and post them whenever I find a connection. I have the book Anatomy For Artists and Dynamic Figuredrawing so I guess I’ll be set for a while at least… Although priority no 1 is to find a job and get cash, I needs it now!
