Sketchbook Thread of Twilightedge

#1

Hi everyone.

I just finished this last night. I’m currently without a scanner so I had to take a photograph of the sketch. I lightened it a bit in Photoshop but that’s the only tinkering I did with it.

I hope these aren’t too large, if so I can resize it or link out if need be.

This is a character design I’m working on. I thought it could go here since this is also for figurative armor and clothing. I hope it counts. If not I can remove it.
Edit: This is a WIP.

Please, if you have an critiques and the like feel free to help me. =) I’m an art student after all so I can handle it.

Thank you for looking.

Hi…Twilightedge …GREAT NAME…

Some very nice things going on in that first drawing,…the upper part of the drawing from the waist up is really nice  …great mood captured in that face :applause:
On her legs, keep an eye out on the length of the thighs…when you are drawing from the model, get in the habit of holding your pencil out at arms lenght and measuring distances and angles of body parts in relationship to each other…like on the longest thigh, you can hold your pencil at a straight vertical from the outter edge of her knee,…up to her face…measure the space that is inbetween her face and your pencil…that distance will give you the correct lenght of her thigh…this metod creates negitive spaces around the figure, which are like pieces of a puzzle…get thier size and shape correct, and everything atomatically fits into it’s proper place…hope that helps a little.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work and progress.keep posting…

Thanks for your reply. =)

I used image sources in both drawings and I believe I did lengthen the first girl’s thigh. I have a habit of doing that when drawing. I took life drawing classes two years ago and I always forget to do that lil’ pencil tip.
Thank you for your reminder. =)
