THANKS…Anand… …All of you gave me more than you can imagine…the will to continue,
regardless of it all…CAN’T THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH…

Johan…I think we ALL owe each other …BIG TIME…If one of us sinks, we all sink,…learned that lesson many years ago while I was on that sub in the navy…
I think these fighters have already been seperated, by foce of arms…:scream:

HEY…Guagua…GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU…BEEN TOO LONG MY FRIEND
THANK YOU for your kind words and thoughts, and YES, he will ALWAYS BE ALIVE and WELL, …IN MY HEART… SPIRIT NEVER DIES…

THANK YOU …CRIS…You know, the service was held, and he was buried almost in your backyard…the SAN FERNANDO MISSION…I can remember having picknicks in the little park they have there, when I was a kid…GREAT MEMORIES FROM THERE, and THEN…
He worked most of his life at the TERRY lumber yard in Burbank, which is also right in your backyard…he delivered lumber in his truck, to most of what was built in the VALLEY, over the years…a lot of hills climbed in all those trucks he went through in his lifetime…

THANK YOU…Ellie…YES YOU MAY,…AS LONG AS THEY ARE FOLLOWED BY A BIG…

THANK YOU EVERY=ONE… …Your words and thoughts have truly lifted my SPIRIT, and ALLOWED IT TO KEEP ON DREAMING…:bounce:  …THANKS

TAKE CARE
Glenn

Took a long nap this afernoon…as I was waking up, a vision of me and my father watching this fight, flashed into my head,…even though, at the time, we were able only to listen to it on the radio ,…SO HERE IT IS…FUNNY HOW THE IMAGINATION WORKS…:scream:

Oh, Glenn…I used to go to Terry Lumber all the time…since the time I was a child and accompanied my “daddy” (that’s what I called my grandfather). We probably crossed paths more than once. Small world.

Hi Glenn

great photos  I’m sure your dad is in one way or other appreciating that he’s now trucking the global freeway with that lovely smile of his

I think it’s fascinating to see that a lot of your no-reference heads and faces, have so much of your dad in them… goes to show that on a subconscious level he’s very much a part of you

take care and keep expressing and exploring

cheers
a.

Hi…Cris…I worked there for a while,…used to unload the trains of lumber that came in every day…drove a huge forklift, about the size of a TANK…:scream: …CRAZY PACE…HARD WORK…

THANKS…Annette…He would have gotten a big kick out of it…Im sure…:scream:
Funny how the imagination works that way…but now that you mention it ,…probably true…
THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE

A couple of very quick speed paint THUMNAIL SKETCHES…Thinking of doing a series of boxing paintings. Want them full of energy, and done in an expressionistic style, using a pallet knife, with imposto oil brushes in PAINTER # 9…SOMETHING NEW FOR ME…
Working from imagination at the moment…will search out some good refferences as I go along with this series…Right now, just trying to master this pallet knife // imposto effect…:scream:

Hello…Helen Baq…THANK YOU…Really glad you enjoyed my work…Z BRUSH is a great program…I’m still just barely beginning to grasp what it can do, but it is a lot of fun, for sure…

Playing around with Z BRUSH this morning…thinking of having the boxer in the corner of the ring, with his arms lying over the ropes, getting ready to pull himself up, for one more round.
I think the ropes and edges of the ring, might creat a nice perpective, leading into the boxer
Kind of a lead in with the ropes, and a lead out with the boxers gesture.
A lot of work left on the boxer, but it’s a start.
Created from imagination, no refferences used

this last boxing scene brought back alot of memories for me of when i use to watch with my dad. really capturing that look a boxer gets when they’re getting tired but determined to go on or is very close to how i remember it, it’s been a while

great work as always:)

Hey Glenn,

it’s still amazing to me how you manage to guide us AND being so productive at the same time

Love the portrait of the boxer in frame 851. Really digging those palette knife “strokes”… so defining… I’ve a great queste for those ahead of me myself

The boxer in the ring corner… wow… loads of energy there… definetely worth pushing it a bit further I think!

Thanks btw for reminding me you have some lovely light studies in the beginning of your thread… They are very helpful :buttrock:

#857

Hey there, fascinating work and I think this is the one you were talking about. It looks great and I can see what you mean about it looking like that reference in my thread. This is definitely the direction I was thinking of heading. Thanks !!!

Hi Glenn, as always I have too less time to post all the stuff I want, but I want to tell you how great all your stuff is still looking!

I like to see more of this colored stuff from you! Just keep at it and try to play more with colors

Also it is great to see you working on more complete figures and images … I love this boxer (?). To me it seems like his head is a little to small.

Keep it up! I will check it from time to time  You know … Trunks - always with too less time for everything but not for creating art ^^
