THANKS BNN…Had to get back into Z BRUSH, before I forget how to make it work…LOL.

Hi…Trunks…THANKS for stopping by, and for the kind words…Added some Z BRUSH textures to a couple of the faces …JUST FOR YOU…just the standard textures in the tool bar, above where the spheres are located…left side of screen, in the Z BRUSH program.
Hope you enjoy…they are a lot of fun to experiment with…:bounce:

THANKS …Icey…That Bernini sculpture was a killer  …surprised myself on that one…learned
a lot from doing it, so I guess it was well worth doing  …need to get back into Z BRUSH.
That is where my interest and curiosity lies at the moment, I somehow keep getting sidetracked…BY ALL OF THESE GREAT FORUMS and WORK SHOPS ECT…LOL…GREAT to hear from you …Icey…

Hi Glenn, popping in again to marvel at how much you’ve accomplished since I was last here. You’re really on a great roll with these heads, much credit to you for sticking with it and trying out loads of different techniques. Something I would do well to do myself, but I got stuck straingin for perfection with every head I tried! You’ve given me the gusto to maybe try a looser approach though, so thank you!

The last OFDW piece came out really unusually too, in a good way, a great study in colour and loose form. And also good to see some caravaggio inspired Glenn-style colour in those pieces too. Keep up the amazing work, you’re really such an inspiration!

Zephyri/Spiritwind: Thank you very much for the kind words and thoughts. It’s always a great pleasure and a surprise to know that my work is inspiring an artist of your high caliber.
Thanks again.
Take care

Hi Glenn,

I am glad you are takin part in the 50 head workshop, so I can get to see so many wonderful studies.

I dont know if I said it before, but I have the feeling your 3D work with ZBrush carries over to your 2D work, too. It all looks very reliably set into a believable space.

if you know what I mean…

070 Fifty Heads

SpiritDreamer - really like your technique for the last two heads #70 and 97

(A very good thing that you didn’t take the day off, and produced head 70, instead  )

No the only 3D program I have is 3DSmax. But I am too lazy to attempt on modeling heads after masterstudies  Do you know this program? The textures you can do with it are incredible … they rock everything

Something to your head stuff: Maybe you should decide for 1 head which you are going to detail a little more. If you normally do your heads in 1 hour go and take 2. If you are too lazy like myself, forget what I said  But I think it would be great to have 1 head on which you worked more and harder. Maybe you got motivated  I personally could not motivate myself … soo good luck

YMS…THANK YOU…I am also glad that I decided to do that head …learned a lot, and still had time to go to the beech…:bounce:

Trunks…THANKS…Not familar with 3ds max…have just started to explore Z BRUSH.
Starting to explore the textures it offers…trying them out on different heads that I have created recently…a fun adventure so far…

Morning Glenn,

a very nice result for head # 70, beautiful coloring and a good sense for the lighting:thumbsup: …I’m curious: how long do you need for such a study?
And always great to see your zBrush experiments, the last one is interesting:) …

Have a nice day!

Hiya Glenn,

Just wanted to pop by to say hello and to see what cool work you’ve been up to. As always your encouragement around the forums is greatly appreciated, I think you’ve become the Anatomy Forum Team Mascot! Keep up the great and inspiring work!

Yo Glenn

Awesome things going on here as always. This last z-brush dude is looking seriously pissed off at something. Even though he’s looking upward he’s still feeling huge. You’ve put him in his own reality, and the big guy is scary regardless of whether he is physically real or not. Even though I’ve got no time, you’re seriously making me want to have a go at z-brush now.

muchothanx for the inspiration
ciao

Finally able to turn on the computer…heat wave …TOO HOT…broke with a THUNDER STORM…:bounce:

Hi …Siju…Convict…LOL…:scream: …Just an ageing GIANT…Thinking of putting a small castle, at the edge of a cliff… up in the corner where he is looking,…above the clouds to give him scale…

Hi…daWinky…Thanks for the visit…Glad you enjoy that style of painting I used on the fifty heads thing…in answer to your question about the time it takes to paint them…It takes about
ten minutes to paint, and about two or three hours of looking and seeing what makes up the particular facial expression…and what creates the mood in the piece…facial muscles at work…lighting…atmosphere ect…Really am likeing those last three heads you did by the way…great job on those…

Hi…Rebecca…TEAM MASCOT…LOL…whatever works…just so long as I don’t have to wear a costume…:scream:
I am old enough, and experienced enough to not have to worry about success, fame, failure… and all that insanity, and the inflamed ego that comes with it…
Just trying to give back the inspiration that I have recieved along the journy, to those who might need it…on thier journy…and hopefully they will do the same, as they progress.

Demented…THANK YOU…Nice to know that a face can be scary, without fangs, horns, and all of those unnatural accesories, that have become too common place lately.
Just plain old human expression, can decribe it all…How did Marlon Brando put it in
Apocolypse Now…THE HORROR …

Well now that it has cooled off a little, I can get back to some painting…

HAVE A GREAT DAY…EVERY=ONE…
TAKE CARE
Glenn

WOw this is looking great! The eye needs a little more work … everything else is great

I wonder if you can’t put colored textures on the heads? I mean like the grey background but the face is purple or so ?
