Hey shyam, Your sense of atmosphere is fantastic! Great work. I wish I was that creative. Great work and keep posting.
Sketchbook Thread of Shyamshriram
Hiya again Shyam!
It’s great to pop back and go through your thread of latest works, I seem to do it smiling :). Really like the way you explore ideas and there is no way I would call the story with the creature, girl and boy pathetic - it’s great! and it’s just the way ideas evolve; an idea pops up, leads to something else - which leads to something else and so on:) It’s pretty cool the way the little girl appears… and THEN she starts crying
- think I would too, if I suddenly appeared somewhere… to be faced with THAT!! (obviously not knowing that IT really just would like to hang out and play…)
Also like your other characters, Home sweet home, lady in the red dress with the moon, the “SHINING” inspired one and the last one are my favourites
with the last guy, it’s like he’s not quite sure how intimidating he should look, I think it’s the way he’s head is a little down and the look in his eyes: that he’s sort of looking for approval
I don’t know if that’s how you intended him, but I like it! and good luck with the other views ![]()
take care
a.
Hello, Shyam.
You do such wonderful characters. I love the breadth and scope of what you do as well. Of your latest, I really love the character in lavendar. I also dig the one for the activity. I have done turns in the past. They can be fun, they can be difficult, but they really make you see your character fully.
Good luck,
Cris

Awesome start on the portrait! ![]()
Shyam! I have been soo wondering if I’d ever see a drawing or a painting by you again!
This looks gorgeous! Her eyes, the highlight on the nose tip and the curve of the neck are really beautiful.
Maybe you should add a slightly darker value between the parted lips? Also, her left nostril (the viewer’s right one) seems to be a bit higher than the other one.
Hope we’ll see more of you again!

Hi Shyam!!
How are you? This one is looking pretty beautiful. I always love and respect traditional mediums. Keep posting more and more, we want to see your artworks regularly.
Hey Shyam, my bribe worked!
Heh, nice to see you back again.
Lovely acrylic piece, man acrylics are hard.
