Some updates on R.I.B Gloves, spikes (thanx guys) and feet. Still a way to go:D

A bit closer.

Cheerio Chris

#142

the armor looks cooler now.you got any plans for the back side or you’l avoid it since it’l b down anyways??

#143

Hi Amrinder.
Nope the I will do the back. The character will be lying down but it would be a shame not to finish the figure off as I want to pose it seperately. Thanx for the kind words.

#144

HEY Chris…GREAT update and job…I like what your doing with the forarms, showing the exposed muscle shapes,…and those bigger hands give him that stronger look…the spikes, less distracting but still deadly.
You might think about making those horns that point forwad on his helmet,…the main ones, a tad thicker, subordanating the other horns on the helmet…just a passing thought
AWSOME…

WooW ! its already looking awesome.
how it would be once finished… Going Great Chris.

#146

Looking very spectacular already indeed!

I was just thinking that the upperarms look very vulnerable now… not saying you should add protection for those or anything… just observing out loud. Perhaps you have something in mind already.

Will there be cloth involved?

#147

Ha Glenn!
Getting to work on those horns tonight,… thanx again for the top suggestions mate

Hoi kasana!
Thanx yeah this is turning into an epic, but I am learning lots. I am really looking forward to some freeer stuff. These detailz are driving me nutz

NR43
You are right man. The upper arms look wierd. I was going to put bandages around bits of them,… hmmm have to think on that. Thanx for the ideas.

Some more work on the skull. I kind of like the displacement I think I will do this on the rest of the skeleton.

Tonight the helmet.
Cheerio Chris

#148

hey…
since eyes and eye muscles are on/in the skeleton i suggest you’l hav to show something that shows that…you could try something like skeletor…just put eyeballs there let them shin in dark lik his…rest…no comments

#149

OMG, this looks like a hell of detail work, I admire your patience and the result is really worth all the effort, stunning model. No suggestions or critics from me, just watching with pleasure the progress:) !

#152

Hi Amrinder.
Ha ha, yeah it is true I cant listen to internet radio on the same computer anymore as everything gets waay slow  I may have to get a new comp to render this,… but what th hell right!

Thanx for the reply man
Chris

HEY Chris…GREAT job on that helmet…The first thought that went through my head when I saw those larger central horns was flexable scorpion tails with venom dripping from stingers at their tips.
Would make a great closeup defense system…mentally operated hemet…LOL
Just a passing thought…if not useful on this one, might be useful on another one down the road…Thought it worth mentioning anyway.
Keep up the GREAT WORK Chris…Looking forward to seeing lots more.

Glenn

#154

Ha cool thought,… organic defense!
Nice one Glenn
Thanx

#155

still amazing … and never been worse

#156

Hi Chris! Long time no see, huh?

#157

Hi Majib!
Thanx mate

Hi Sauron!
Yeah it has been quite a while :frowning:
I have probably learnt the most from this project than any other so far. Killermachine was right, at a certain point my computer stopped, even with backburner in max it was crashing on the displacements. These displacements are only on the bones so I was forced to look at all my mentalray settings and what I found was pretty horrifying. Most people say vray is quicker and better as a render engine but I found the displacement in MR is better and if your setting are good its way quicker. I still have quite a bit to do but these renders have a daylight system with FG calculated and after a couple of weeks of research I think the renders are way better, even without textures

Thanx for the responses guys

Amazing designs dude, that’s all I can say. :applause: Your previous models had one thing I would criticise and it’s the width of pelvis, it appeared too narrow to my taste. With this model it looks like you know everything very well.
I also want to thank you for your advices about zbrush, I tried and it makes much sense to me now. The sculpting is so more beneficial at the early stage of studying. I’m busy with other stuff but I think will return to studies within a month or so. Take care.

#159

you know after all said and done…this’l be one project you will remember for a while.and i think this model deserves a 3d print because the model looks really much more well balanced over all then i had thought before…hats off to your talent

#160

Hey Chris. Thanks for the welcome!

I could only see about half the images you’ve got posted up in your little sketchbook here, but what i’ve seen is pretty awesome stuff. Gives me something to work towards ;).
