Hey Chris !!

good going . . . so far, those wrinkles on cloth are looking nice.

Just one thing I wanna point out here which, I saw in first look may be wrong  that-

the area around his waist(below the belt) is looking little odd to me, either you should increase the height of the belt vertically or pull out the cloth below the belt so it will not look like stretched one due to the belt.

Other then, great work

#83

Hey Deepam!

Thanx, see what you mean by the belt. will fix it. Thanx for the advice:cool: .

thats one heavy duty firemen…is there some reason u hav kept his knees bent?
lookin forward to see more drawings…actualy i wanted to know what was your procedure of the girls sitting on chair drawing

tc

Hi killer!
Ya the knees are bent because I have to animate the model. The base mesh is built around a character studio skeleton and the limbs are bent by default in the direction they will mostly travel to aid Inverse Kinematics.

Oh thanx:)
I want to do concept sketches now for every character,… it helps alot! The girl on the chair is drawn from a photo referance and altered. It is pastel powder, negro pencil, markers and colour pencil on marker block paper. The stuff you use for storyboarding for ads and the like.
Thanx for dropping by.

lol @ this thread… Remember my big mama and her sexy dance moves for rig testing? (don’t click me)… I’ve got access to loads of mocrap data @ school, I’ll dig something up for you if you like K!.. Btw the texture really blows this guy off the screen, great stuff for a training vid

hi Chris, very nice job on that fireman dude. i like the new pose very much. imo a good camera angle can make the pose feel even more dynamic. as for the folds on the cloths try using the gravity brush in zbush for that cause some of them feel a bit stiff.

keep up the good work :applause:

hohoho
this is crazy.this new model is comin out too good.why cant i sit patiently an model lik this :frowning:
i think the swords grip should be thinner cuz if he cant grip it fully it might be difficult to use for a very forceful attack.the firefighter looks good textured tho too clean for a fire fighter :stuck_out_tongue: but i assume u didnt wanted to go in too much texture detail
tc n hav fun
KM

#97

Wow thanx Amrinder!
Hi hi your modelling is just fine.
Yes the sword has to come down at least half the size (the grip too) as the whole thing would be too monsterous for even him to handle:)
The fireman is clean because there wasnt time to put into the textures, but will redo those.

Thanx for the kind words man!

HEY…Chris…

Been admiring your works…Are your figures so highly stylized for a specific reason…just curious?..ANYWAY,…I like the style that your going with…very DYNAMIC…
Do you have any of Burne Hogarth’s books…just curious again.
His book Dynamic Figure Drawing is one of my favorites, and is right in line with the style that your going with…just thought that I would mention it, in case you hadn’t seen it, and don’t have it. Definitly worth getting, if you don’t already have it.
On that last figure that your working on, you might add some muscle on the sides of his hips/pelvis,…looks a little empty and flat in that area, and maybe a little more indication of his shoulder blades , and where the muscles attach to them…just a couple of small suggestions that might be useful to you.
Anyway, keep up the GREAT work Chris…Always a pleasure and 3D learning experience for me, while going through your thread and seeing your figures develope…

Hi Glenn!
What a nice response, and useful info as well :).
Why are my figures so stylized? I think its because I grew up admiring comic book characters like spiderman, the silver surfer, the phantom and so on. I really love computer games as well. I think designing a figure is the most fun there is and am hoping they tell a story.

Hogarth is teriffic and I have a copy here which I will grab now to look at the muscles you suggested. Comparing my style to that of Hogarth is probably the biggest compliment I have ever had:blush:.

Thanx and

Wonderful gesture carrying through there Chris. I think a little bit more curve to the wrist would be interesting. The main thing I would be interested in is a look at the (character left) leg raised (onto a step or rubble). It certainly looks like it could work with him dramatically cresting a hill

Nice piece, nice to see the idea carrying through so well.
