Sketchbook Thread of Kanga - 3D

Looking really good, the anatomy looks awesome and great details in all the muscles.
Good job, keep it up.

Hey Kanga, cool update! I really like the stylization and think you’re able to pull it off because it looks intentional.

One thing I notice though is that the arm seems the same circumference all the way from shoulder to wrist (it only slightly tapers toward the wrist). My two cents would be to give the shoulder more volume / definition and to widen the upper arms so that the arms don’t appear quite so spindly. I feel like the sword would snap her arms off. Great stuff though and looking forward to updates.

Hi Chris !!

nice character, good going so far . . .

looks like a muscular body, hav a look at legs again.

Are you using Zbrush for displacement or simple drawn map ?

Double post!

Hi MiguelS
Thanx alot, spent quite a while on the muscles:) .

Hey Rebecca
Thanx, pumped up those upper arms today. Did you mean more definition around the shoulder rear area?

Hi Deepam
Yeah the legs are over developed:) . This is just displacement mapping out of zbrush and rendered in 3dmax with a vray displacement modifier.

Thanx for your help and responses:)

Thanx Rebecca
Before 3d I was a commercial illustrator for about 10 years (sheesh goes quick). I wanted to show some life drawings but have lost them,… darn! Will be going back to life drawing soon, hope to have something to show then.

Thanx for the visit, you take very good care of us.

Thanks! Hey, I didn’t know that - very cool. Too bad that you lost the life drawings though - good thing is, it’s a renewable resource. Looking forward to new stuff.

Awesome drawings, Chris!! :bounce:… and the model has turned out great!!

#57

Thanx Anand!
This one is a fight every step of the way. Finaly got some reasonable displacement on the wing which is tricky as they are so thin. Rigging her is also proving a challenge because the model is higher density but weight painting is proving quite good. I plan to make a small clip with her using motion builder. The muscle masses are pretty obscene atm, but I am hoping that with a good action pose and attractive environment that what is too much now will be just enough then;)
Quick deform.
