Ah thanks Alexander
Cheers Chris
After doing the character workshop here I need to loosen up a bit
Started taking part in the EDAH thread. Here is one from a cube. The base was done in an hour but a couple more hours tweaking. Bad me. Have to bring that time down.

Cheers
Looks good! I think his folds near nostrils could be more prominent. Also his lower lip seems a bit flat.
Thanks Alexander,… will do!
Here is today’s effort. Took longer than an hour though

Cheers
Looks good! Maybe the lower lip near the end of mouth a bit sharp where transition goes. And I’m not sure about the rib, which goes below the clavicle, looks a bit too prominent.
Thanks Alexander!
Will keep those pointers in mind
aggie93 Thanks,… yes its zbrush indeed.
I think the idea of an hour sculpt is brilliant so today I tried to hit that mark (like all the other days so far). No luck, but I put down what I had after an hour,… yuk

Disappointing, but no pain no gain I guess
Cheers
hey kanga how are you??thos are some really cool quick sculpts.
im really liking this 1 hr sculpting idea, might help me get into zbrush eventually.can u whip up a quick video of how you do it? I dont know about anyone else but it’l help get basic understanding.
thanks
Hey thanks killer!
The the one hour thing is really the best
Will put together a vid,… sure.
Cheers man
hey kanga,
i hadnt seen updates in your thread for a while so just came to see whats up but the i read you lost alot of your work. i feel bad for that and i know it sucks to when we lose just 1 file i cannot imagine how you must have felt after losing so much work. i hav started sculpting in zbrush and your work was best inspiration for me. i’l try to work things out somehow and i hope you will put up some nice new stuff too soon.
BTW: do you anyplace where i can find base and tuttorial on how to pose them.my first zbrush effort went pretty badly

aggie, yo, got sidetracked, whats new?
mister3d, ha ha, you are right!
Killer, er I took a jump over to your thread and saw your zb stuff. Its looking ok to me. Just a wee bit of practice and you will be getting those great lines in your sculpts like you do in your drawings. Just have fun.
There are a lot of base meshes available. In zb4 you can find them in the projects under light box.
Thanks for the posts guys!
i didnt saw any female basemesh in lightbox but i’l check again.
the zbrush one u saw was actually a mesh made in 3dmax and worked over for normal maps.actually i started working on sculptris before zbrush so its polygon system really bugged me(i understand now why subtools are needed). but i want to really understand and use its posing capabilty. It’l b awesome if you can make a video on that too
tc
No there are no female base meshes.
Did you mean just posing a sculpt with transpose master, or did you mean rigging?
Ah ok!
I didn’t understand you correctly. I don’t rig in zbrush, only pose the model without a skeleton. I only do that when I don’t have plans to use the model for anything else apart from a still shot. I do all my rigging in Max with simple bones, and animation in Motionbuilder.
Been a while, oops.
Here is a wip of a hunter boy and his bird. The bird is still just an under skeleton.

Had a look to see how the figure would be without the tusks. Put some muscles in the legs and changed the obliques. If they still look strange I will slope them even more, I think that is what looked strange.
