Sketchbook Thread of INTERVAIN - 2D/3D

Ooh, nice looking face. Very interesting. But only grotesque stuff comes to my mind for suggestions, so I will conceal that. I remember you saying you don’t do grotesque stuff. Looking forward how this will turn out.
The anatomy study is great! Doing many of those myself these days, only in 2d. You could do a full figure in some action pose with that anatomical look, would be fun  Just a thought though.
Good luck on this new sculpture

Womball - I haven’t worked on the hand yet… it’s thin because it’s just an approximated base mesh :stuck_out_tongue: as for the guy… I never said I’d go beyond a quck study

razz - thanks! grotesque? hehehe I thought she’s far removed from that LOL

well a tiny bit more…

#703

OOH! This is awesome stuff, Magdalena! way to go!

#704

Magdalena, she is. It’s only me with the creepy mind of mine. She’s a saint!
Love how you’ve modeled the all the forms showing under the cloth. Can only imagine how hard it is, but you’re doing fine. I may suggest looking at Da Vinci’s works for the reference of hands.
So, will this be in bronze? Maybe clay?

#705

For the Victorians, mourning was the number one pastime - closely followed by being repressed and travelling around, nicking stuff. The veil industry had to work overtime just to meet demand.

How are you doing the veil folds on the face? ZB3 layers? Or just being ultra-careful?

#706

Hey Magdalena! Great work as always.

For some reason I can’t shake the feeling that the veil looks wet. Like there’s too much weight on it. the part on her left breast is falling to sharply? Also, her bottom chest in the middle:It looks like the cloth is sticking to her like its wet.Just my humble opinion though after 2 mugs of coffee.:surprisedI dunno, maybe I just need sleep heh.

Great work as always though. Can’t wait to see more.

Anand - thank you

razz - good tip there… will be sure to check Leo out  I’m going for this creamy marble thing…

Piek - yeah they were morbid folk  I’m not good with layers no matter the software… just cannot keep them in order and keep forgetting what’s where or forgetting to switch to the right one… so I’m being careful  not too much so thoug… just going for it and hoping for the best

Isaias - thanks  yeah maybe you’re right with that cloth… it is sticking to her … hmm… I’ve been using a sculpture by Corradini as ref for those folds and his are rather sharply defined and wet looking… I do like that feel though so I think I’ll keep it

well a tiny bit more… still more to be done…

#708

well… enough

#709

good enough for meh =)

I love folds

#710

…enough :buttrock::banghead::cry:

#711

that is just so pro… and scary

#712

HEY…Magdalena…:bounce: :applause:

Your sculpting and sculpture are reaching a TOTALLY AWSOME LEVEL.
That last one has a surreal feel to it…DREAM TIME…
Was wondering if you have studied any of RODIN…not sure of the spelling…There is alot of self expression in his works…POWERFUL STUFF.
Anyway…you might get some inspiration and ideas from his works, which might take your work to an even higher and more personal level…just a thought.
KEEP INSPIRED AND INSPIRING …Magdalena…
TAKE CARE

I can’t get my head around how 3D works…all those grids…reminds me of maths!!

But I can’t dispute the fantastic results you achieve…amazing work!!!

#714

Hey Magdalena!

The last sculpture is just wonderful, the face …the clothes…great stuff!
And I’m even more amazed to see how fast you can work:scream: …

Wow, that last bust is super on both an artistic and technical level! I just love how you created the eyes but also have folds of the cloth cross over them at the same time. Did you really create a basemesh or just sculpt from a box? I’d think from a box would make things so much easier since so much is going on and laying down any kind of topology would just get in the way.

Keep these up and pretty soon you could create a render of a museum or gallery full of your sculpts. Can’t wait to see what you do next!

Johan - thank you

Lemog - LOL  no worries I’m banging walls when I see your elaborate buildings

jurffy - thanks, very kind! I’m glad you like it.

Glenn - thanks alot… I’m glad you think so… I did have a look at Rodin many times before naturally… his works are indeed amazing

Mark - thank you very much

Sabrina - cheers  practice makes perfect I guess…

Joel - aww, thank you so much for the kind words. Yes I have made a base mesh - with only 1 ear :scream: and obviously no hard edges around the eyes, or the mouth… I was curious how much I would have to remove from a base model to make the folds… I didn’t start from a box because it would simply have taken way longer to sculpt and I wanted to finish within the 2 days…so obviously I was pretty much going between xsi and zbrush half the Saturday to get the base righ… a bit of a pain in the neck…

#717

haha - she’s in the Z3 gallery on the official website  COOL  - and I see they also used the cowboy… makes me kinda excited they liked it…

#718

Congrats on getting on there! I wish they would send the email soon. I can’t wait!

#719

thanks hehe… I just noticed they’ve put the anatomy study on the resellers page…with credits - I’m all puffed up g

oh patience, patience… it’s worth waiting for though!

#720

I hope they do the same whenever I finish mine. :frowning: Although it seems like it will be a week or so before I can even download zbrush, due to demand.
