Sketchbook Thread Of Ha-dou-ken - 2D/3D

#141

Hey Isaias,

all the best for the new year.
I wish you a pencil and a few paper sketchbooks… ok ok it’s really also a wish for myself, to see you do some pencil sketches

Try a few traditional media… they are fun and will make sure you will have to keep pushing yourself!

#142

really like the brooding feel of that last one - and don’t know why but it reminded me immediately of Peter Petrelli from Heroes - guess I’ve been watching that show too much LOL, must be the hair

#143

Hey Isaias!! beautiful work, my friend! I just love the amount feeling you put into your paintings… it comes across so poignantly.

#144

Hey Becca, Thank you for the encouraging words. I want to continue to push myself. This site helps tremendously…

Johan! I wish you some art supplies A.S.A.P.!poof Did it work? Have a great new year and many more.

Hey Magdalena, I’ve REALLY been wanting to catch Heroes!!!:scream: I always miss it though and al my friends tell me I’m missing out haha. I’ll have to get the DVD when it comes out. Thanks for the eyes and hands, but mostly the heart friend.

Hey Anand! Thank you for the kind words. I try to show life…That’s all we have, no? I don’t make sense…thank you though, truly.

#145

Ha!
thanks
I got 4 sketchbooks in different sizes, some charcoal sticks and a box full of pencils!

lots of character in the last one
keep ‘em comin’ !!

#146

Haha, I’m seeing it too. Not only the hair, but I think the nose fits the bill as well. And yes, Ha-dou-ken, you’re missing out.

Tell me, is your alias either ha-dou-ken of Street Fighter or Black Mage of 8-bit theater? Those are the only 2 I know, aside from your gallery of course!

#147

Hey KNilblink, I’m addicted to Street Fighter…it’s a problem:D I play around the country at tournaments, in fact I just got back from one in Texas and beat one of the top players in the U.S.!I should have a video up soon on youtube haha. But, yeah…I can stop whenever I want!:scream: I don’t play video games or watch tv really…just SF, Third Strike.

This is the game…that’s not me but an example of high level play. US vs Japan.(Japan kicked our @ss that year ha)

#148

Haha, just watched that video. Intense stuff! I’ve heard that’s a huge competitive game, sadly my ownly SF experience goes to the first iteration/s of SFII on the SNES. I play games on and off, but didn’t really watch TV aside from the occasional episode of Conan O’brien until “Heroes.” Well, there’s Scrubs too, okay I watch TV.

Congratulations on beating a top US player! It’s cool that you have your one game that you truly rock at.

#149

I couldn’t get Aeon FLux out of my head head

Here’s another update on my OFDW entry. I haven’t been able to work on it as much as I would like. Only 2 more days!! :eek:I need to get it done! It’s so tedious. What the hell man, I start painting and BAM! 4 hrs pass instantly! I don’t know. In the zone I guess.

#151

You’re making good progress on your OFDW piece there…
this means you are too far now to just drop it and you MUST finish it (like me)
Don’t worry about the deadline, we don’t need it to keep working do we?

#152

Those quickies you do here, I like 'em. I agree with Johan, don’t worry about the deadline. Who cares about it. Just get the piece done. It’s not commissioned or something, is it? So, don’t rush. Don’t look at the time you’re spending on these. It’s a pleasure painting it, yeah? Just take all the time you need it to look great and to make yourself excited about doing so. So far you’re doing very well. I’m looking forward to some more :bounce:

#153

Hey! I like the description of being in the zone while working on this OFDW piece LOL I was like that myself, like i didn’t know what was going on around me and than I just simply couldn’t sit anymore or couldn’t see sh! LOL… Great progress - I’m sure you can make it before the deadline  Getting there for sure

#154

Ha, thanks all. I always put too much emphasis on time. I’m chronophobic I guess. Always have been. I was one of those kids who always asked what time it was every 5 minutes ha. My parents hated that.

I’m bulding my new rig right now, it’s awesome! smoking fast, I can get a lot more work done now haha!:bounce:

More soon. Thanks again friends.

#155

HEY…Isaias…

Just stopping by to say HI… …Think that caravaggio is turning out
GREAT…You really got the proportions down nicely…a hard one because of his age… …The colors , softness and texture of his skin are perfect, will look great if you contrast that, with the smooth hard feeling of some of the other elements in the painting, musical intruments, feathers ect.
Can’t wait to see the finished version of this, even if you don’t make the deadline…time is an illussion…it is the quality of your work left behind,…that in time,…will tell if it was… time well spent…:scream:
TAKE CARE
Glenn

Yay, I was fascinated by the water too! Indeed a nice piece. The boy looks great too, I like the little highlights left shoulder there. Very well done.

And how is your OFDW piece progressing?
