Me too wants to buy Jason’s DVD. don’t know when.

Your drawings have such weight and volume to them. They’re great. They really take up the space of the canvas, not just lines on top. Great work! I can’t wait to see more. I really like your initial figure drawings on the first page. They’re so chunky and great. Really show great volume.

Kasana I definitely advise you the Seiler DVD it’s so motivating. He goes through different sketching techniques and gives a lot of useful tips.

Love the freedom in your lines, the sketches look loose but well controlled at the same time, good job. Do show more!

Time for some updates.
Traditionat this time.
Some studies after Bridgman , sketches from Photo Refs, life and imagination, and another Maughan copy/study.

#114

3h from photoreference.

#115

Color test using overlay and soft light layers.
It’s my first real attempt at coloring a digital black and white painting.
Comments and critics very welcomed !

Looks pretty nice to me.
Is it me or is her right eye (at our left side) smaller than her left?
This could be the same in the ref though. Actually, 2 of my 3 kids have one smaller eye when they are tired

The forms of the muscles of the neck could be a bit more defined. Get rid of the hard vertical edges there as it’s making the neck look a bit “un-organic”

#117

Hey Gregory good work! I love your sketches and all the faces you draw\paint. I agree with Johan for the eye of your last portrait and I like the colours of it. Waiting for more

#118

Thanks for comments guys !

I kinda liked it that way so i stoped there for once.
Done with wacom intuos 3 as usual.

Another round of traditional drawing.
I recently spent a couple days, drawing after the wonderful book Drawing Force by Mike Mattesi.
These were really helpful to make my hand really loose and let the lines flow.
There are also some Bridgman studies and few drawings from imagination.

Hope you like them:

Yep, like them
There are some proportional issues here and there but overall your sketches have a nice flow to them, which is far more important.

Keep going, doing well!
